Internal

The internal face of the laptop has been given a silver touch. The screen utilizes HP's very own WXGA BrightView technology to provide a good screen contrast. The screen has a webcam at the top centre and on its either side there are inbuilt Mics. On the left of the screen is a finger print scanner that stores your passwords and helps for easy login into the PC, websites etc.

To the right bottom corner of the screen there are four buttons. Two of them are on the right while the other two are placed below the screen.

The two buttons on the right are quick launch buttons to play DVD and the other one is the QuickPlay button. The buttons placed below the screen are mainly meant for when in tablet form. One button is for changing the screen orientation, keep clicking it and it goes clockwise. The other button is a quick launch to the Windows Mobility Window. Below the screen towards the centre is where the laptops Altec Lansing speakers placed. On the left corner below the screen are three LEDs: one denotes power on, the other indicates if the power cable is plugged-in and the last stands for HDD activity.

Coming down to the base, it comprises of the keypad and the touchpad. The keypad is compressed and fit in 12-inches of space. The first row of keys which include the Esc, Function keys and Scroll keys are just too small. Add to that, they have dual functions with the combination of the 'fn' key which makes it quite uncomfortable. The other key that I found really uncomfortable was the shift key on the right. It's quite small and I mostly ended up hitting the keys on either side of the shift key. At the top left corner above the keypad are volume controls.

Below the keypad in the centre is the touch-pad with two keys and scroll sides as well. The touchpad has a button over it to lock and unlock the touchpad. There is enough of wrist space on either side to comfortably place your wrist while typing. There are hinges on either side of the keypad to hold the lid down when closed or to hold the screen in one place when being used as tablet. These hinges at times pose a bit of a problem when typing.

My expierence with TX1016 has been very disappointing. Just afer one year, it has sarted giving display problem. No display caused me to contact their service centre. Solution is to spend another Rs 19000/- to change mother board. They have changed it twice but the problem keeps on recurring. HP customer care is squarely palming me off to their outsoutced service centre without any help, In the past few months laptop has spent more time at service centre than with me. Also AMD turion chips have tendency to overheat. Over all my personal expierence is disappointing. Specially after spending Rs 75000/- I am now expected to spend another Rs 20000 to have this corrected with no gaurantee of a stable performance. Suggest keep away from this product and do not really bank on HP customer service once the one year warranty period is over. You will be on your own. DISAPPOINTING AND FURSRATING

TX1301AU is good but its battery SUCKS. It comes with 4-cell battery which lasts only 1 hr 30 min on full charge and on low power consumption setting. So, consider 6-cell battery while buying this. Also there is no support provided by HP on its accessories as of yet.

i bought on of these in july. 10 days later the screen broke after it fell from a height of 2 feet. apparently they dont provide individual spare parts.i have to buy a finger print reader,an lcd monitor a touch pad and camera assembly to replace a plastic display panal. cost of laptop 53,000+ tax cost of repair 46,000. why cant they just sell the panal glass?

its battery is a nuisance. it get too much hot totally unbearable to put it on your lap. you have to use it more or less like a desktop.

I recently purchased this Convertablet (which I like to call it) fully customized off the HP Website. Suffice to say it offers a hell of a bang for the buck. But it really shouldn't be viewed as a TABLET PC but more like an Ultraportable with Tablet capabilities. Best of both worlds. I'm very satisfied. Comparable to a Thinkpad T60 Widescreen Tablet but for 800-900$ less.

HEY! I BOUGHT THIS PEACE AS SOON AS IT WAS LAUNCHED IN MARCH...........i was the first one to pick up the first delivery from the Vashi godown....the one with a 2 gb ram..........cool aint it...the dealer told me i was taking the first peace......IT ROCKS!

techtree is an ass. dint review a cool model hp dv 9222tx costs 67000 all inclusive. 1.6 core2, 160gb hhdd, 17", nvidia 7600, vista home premium and vista is smooth. just cpu is li'l slow. score is 4.3
