The 17" flat screen monitor from HCL that we reviewed a couple of weeks ago was pretty impressive. Today, let's find out if their standard 17 incher is in the same league. We present the HCL HCM780M.
For starters, the HCM780M looks exactly similar to its more expensive sibling, the HCM785 RFM, except for the flatness of the screen. Even the button layout is an exact replica. As I mentioned before, the HCM780M is a conventional 17" CRT monitor, while the latter has a pure flat screen. The four buttons on the front panel help you control all the supported functions of the monitor through an OSD. I had to toil really hard to get the screen positioning right. However, in spite of all my effort I couldn't get it perfectly right. On second inspection, I realized that the dark borders were slightly curved and that made the screen look more flawed than it actually was.

I am having HCL HCM780M monitor when I on the monitor some time it shows different colors, some time opens with brightness, some time like greenish, some time normally please tell me what should I do.

bhai i also have the same problem of poping of the menu, the values change on itself, the menu buttons are not working so that i can readjust the values, now i have a monitor with the vertical shift of 100 and horizontal shift of 100 and the contrast and brightness value have changed to such a value that it is no longer possible to view the contents properly. HCL sucks . I dont know what to do, the problem apeared as soon as the warranty ended,the service provider say that we cant do anything as the expiry has ended and i am not able to find a service centre so that i can get my monitor repaired. help me

its miner problem.so you replace the micro switch of monitor front panel.

I am using this monitor for over 2 & 1/2 yrs now. I haven't encountered any problem till now. And one thing, the screen resolution gets set at 1024x768 (75 Hz) automatically and covers the whole screen corner to corner giving the best image quality. I give 5/5 to it.

I AM HAVING THIS MONITOR FOR ABOUT 1 AND 1/2 YEARS. NOW IT IS GIVING ME SOME TROUBLE. THE OSD GETS DISPLAYED AUTOMATICALLY. WHEN I PRESS THE BUTTONS ON THE MONITOR PANEL, THE OSD DOES NOT RESPOND. ALSO THE COLOR TEMPERATURE CAN'T BE CHANGED. EVEN THE IMAGE GETS DISPLAYED SLIGHTLY MOVED TO THE RIGHT SIDE.
