A mobo based on the 690V chipset with ATI Radeon X1200 graphics core

AMD 690 chipset has been touted to be the way to go (in terms of cost to performance ratio). You've already seen how the 690G performs in our review of the Sapphire PI-AM2RS690MHD and the MSI K9AGM2-FIH. Today, I've pitted the 690V-based Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 against these 2. So, let the duel begin!
Chipset
The 690 chipset series consists of 2 primary variants: the 690G and the 690V. The 690V supports onboard Video Graphics Array (VGA) but no High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). Also, the graphics core of the 690G differs from the 690V in that the former includes the higher-clocked ATI Radeon X1250 while the latter uses the Radeon X1200, both derivatives of the X700.
The chipset features the SB600 Southbridge and supports the full range of Socket AM2 processors, including the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX/X2, and Sempron. Basic features include a 1GHz HyperTransport link, a unified memory architecture, Peripheral Component Interconnect express (PCIe) x16 graphics and x1 peripheral support, support for DDR2 Random Access Memory (RAM) speeds up to 800 MHz, up to 10 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 ports, and Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA).

sucks. if u really want a 680i board then check out asus striker extreme. i have it, and no complains. overclocking is just childs-play in it. from 1.6 to 3.2ghz. with stock cooler. evrything u can imagine in the bundle.

shut up you numpty. the asus striker extreme isn't an mATX board for starters neither is it a good choice for a small media center. just because you give vague overclocking results not even bothering to state what your CPU is! could be a P4 for all we know.. idiot
