I'd rather use my laptop's touch-pad than fiddle with this weird contraption

Can be used by both right and left handed people, two configurable buttons

Not very comfortable to use, learning curve for regular mouse users, inaccurate track-ball sensor, expensive

The preliminary mice that came into existence were track-ball based. I still remember the early Compaq Armada series laptops that would use track-ball mice to navigate the cursor. Now, the world has moved on to touch-sensitive pads and laser sensors. But there are a few applications where track-balls are preferred. For instance, large track-balls offer precision while working on CAD applications and can prove convenient to use in places that don't have desk space.

We've got an odd little track-ball mouse from Genius. Let's track whether the Genius Traveler 350 is a sensible device or not.
