Game Goddesses: Dressed to Kill

Game Goddesses: Dressed to Kill

Behind every successful man there is a woman. Behind, beside, and in front of every happy gamer is a game babe!

For decades, game designers have been creating divine manifestations of the female form -- manifestations unlike anything one might possibly encounter in the real world. These females are important; every hit game needs a game babe just as every hit movie needs a good-looking actress. But when a woman can be "created," why is there such a difference between the various game goddesses (my favorite way of referring to them) we see? Well, every designer has his own vision, and every game needs a different kind of character. But with every new game the designers try and overshadow past creations. The Game Goddesses' look and interaction has been getting more and more real -- and maybe one day you'll be able to create your own dream babe and see her life-like, just like Mouse created the "Woman in the Red Dress" in The Matrix.

I would like to introduce you to some of the best-looking game characters with perfect figures. (They've been distracting gamers from getting perfect scores.)

Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise
When she was unleashed into the gaming realm in 1998, this babe with out-of-this-world proportions and clad in that figure-hugging T-shirt and hot-pants was an instant hit with almost every gamer. Her moves were so good, players might have idly moved her around a level just to see her from every angle. (Actually, that should be "probably," not "might"!). By the way, it was earlier planned that she would be an Indiana Jones look-alike, can you believe it? A man! Thank God for giving the game developers some sense.

Lara was The Babe, the original female video game action heroine. She had everything one could want in a babe - intelligence, cool knowledge of history, the ability to locate hidden treasures through cryptic maps, sharp shooting pistol skills, firearms, and a super-sultry English accent. Gamers couldn't get enough of her. She wears her killer attitude just as comfortably as her blue-green sleeveless shirt, light brown shorts, calf-high boots, white socks, fingerless gloves, a small backpack, and a utility belt with two holsters.

Angelina Jolie plays her in the movies, and Lara has also been featured in comic books, novels, and a series of animated short films. In 2006, she got herself a star on the Walk of Game, and holds the Guinness World Record for being the "most successful human video game heroine." Lara Croft kicks arse!

Samus Aran from the Metroid franchise
Nintendo gave us a real game babe, probably one of the very first ones, with the Metroid games. Samus was introduced in the 1986 video game that was inspired by the movie Alien.

Now Samus is a bounty hunter employed by the Galactic Federation to hunt alien "Space Pirates" and energy-draining alien parasites called "Metroids." The babe is celestial in more ways than one as she kicks alien-ass in outer space and does it all alone! In the first game she wore the orange and yellow armored power suit all through the game, until the very last moments. Up to that point, gamers had no idea that their hero was a heroine! That major twist -- when she removes her suit and reveals her heavenly body -- might have been one of the best surprises ever provided in a video game.

And when she let her hair down to reveal her skin-tight clothing, gamers literally had their jaws dropping, freely drooling.

While Samus is almost always seen wearing her Power Suit, it has become a trend to reveal her without it at the end of every game and also as a reward for good player performance. For example, by completing the game quickly, players could see Samus in a two-piece bikini, or images and movies of she opening her visor, removing her helmet, or simply removing the entire Power Suit.

The author, Karan, has got to be the biggest se>< starved m0r0n that has ever written for Techtree. This article could have been funny and entertaining, but instead it ended up being a display of Karan's obsession with polygonal brea5ts. It's as if he was just picked off Orkut for his ingenious "Fraandshiips Please" comments and considered apt for writing an article that portrays women in gaming. Not only is it a stupid idea to not include images in an article that's meat to be visual, but the PDF created as an accompanyment is visually repulsive. It looks like a Leprechaun puked out rainow colors on the layout. And Karan, it's very evident that you're absolutely talentless without the help of a copy-editor who probably has to re-write everything for you - as is evident from the garish writing on your un-edited PDF. Finally - "Welcome to the paradise of the unreal!" W T F!?

ROFLcopter! I agree with you whole-heartedly. Writers like this should be put down before they give the rest of the community - let alone the entire country - a bad name. But to be quite honest, the quality of his work is in-tune with the rest of a garb on this god-forsaken site. I remember the good old days when TechTree used to be a Mecca for tech fanatics. It pains me deeply to see the site fall from mediocrity, into the bottomless pit of patheticness. Please work on your quality TT.

I can't believe u didn't include the character Carla Valenti from the game Indigo Prophecy... she is as hot as any of these beauties if not more. Besides this particular game was one of the best adventure games made till date and is literally like a movie!! And what abut this- Kasumi from the Dead or Alive franchise Let's just say it plain: she's the sexiest, and you'd do well to develop the ability to play the game with one hand ;) ... u guys sure know how to say things without saying it actually he he he ;-)
