What is it that an average home consumer looks for in a printer? If you're guessing great output quality and long life, you may be right to a great extent. But the real market scenario shows that there is one factor that undermines everything else - the overall cost factor. Will every high quality printout you take pinch your pocket? Is it really worth spending so much on cartridges when the printouts may not even be of any profitable use?
Thank God for budget printers! While a lot of them are downright terrible and cost ineffective to the extent that they make higher budget printers look like a good option, sometimes... just sometimes you find a true gem among them. A printer that doesn't constantly remind you that you had to compromise on quality by purchasing a printer that wasn't too hard on your budget. Something that would have its little flaws, but all that's acceptable since you're getting the right quality at a great price. The Epson C43SX is that printer.
It's not fat... It's my printer! The printer's bulky and ordinary exterior may surely not win it any prizes for being the best looking printer in the market, but that doesn't mean it looks bad. As you can see in the picture, it is quite small and cute... just in a bulky kind of way.
Performance We ran our standard tests at the highest print quality settings unless specified. The tests include the following:
Font Test: The font test consisted of printing a document containing various fonts starting from point size 24 going all the way down to point size 1.
Result: The last line was clearly visible in both Times New Roman, as well as Ariel fonts. The black ink was a perfect shade of black; something that we've always noticed in Epson printouts.
Black and White Resolution Test: We printed an EIA Resolution chart (1956), containing high-contrast vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines as well as curves of various sizes.
Result: The output was sharp with minimal grain. All lines and curves came out perfectly with absolutely no displacement anywhere.
Time Taken: 17 minutes 48 seconds
