By now, we all know that LCD prices are sinking faster than the Titanic, and it seems like a good time to get one if you're planning to upgrade your PC or buy a new one; and of course, the bigger the better.
The last LCD we reviewed was the Acer AL2216W, now we have a similar 22-inch screen from Dell. Let's see if Dell can match the Acer's price and performance.

hey i read that you can connect 2 sources to this monitor, 1: via dvi & 2: via vga. i have a samsung 19' with dvi an vga. is it possible to connect a computer and also a cable in cord to it? the cable is from the security system, and currently i have to keep a separate tv for that which i would really like to trash. the cable of the security system is a normal cable cord.

The cable u have is a composite cable (yellow color) . This monitor will not accept that cable. It may be better to go for video capture cards, most graphics card also have S Video ports which can also be used if u ur security system has that facility

Wonder why you mention max. resolution instead of usable resolution at 75 Hz or greater.

Concept of refresh rate is different in case of LCD. Very few LCDs can do more than 60Hz and unloke CRT it is quite usable in case of LCD because LCDs don't flicker.

LCD monitors have a native resolution unlike CRTS. They run best at the native resolution and the DELL monitor has a native res of 1650 X 1080 as mentioned. This is the optimal res.
