CryptoExpert can encrypt selected files so that only an authorized user can have access to the encrypted data.

Features
For an application that's just about 2 MB in size, the CryptExpert 2007 Lite comes loaded with a lot of features:
-Access to your files on virtual volume on the fly
-Mapping any free drive letter for virtual volume
-Requires password authentication before the files become accessible
-Works with all Windows and even DOS applications
-Encrypted volumes can be backed up to tape, CD, etc
-Command line interface supports silent program execution, volume mount/dismount
-Transparent encryption/decryption
-Optimized 32 bit drivers (works under WinNT/2000/XP only)
-Multiple encrypted containers can be placed on single hard drive and mounted/dismounted on demand
-Supports Blowfish, Rijndael, DES and Triple DES encryption.
-Ability to unmount volumes after specified time of user inactivity (to prevent unauthorized access to important files)
-Windows XP/2000 Hibernate function support
Usage
The application is approx 1.8 MB in size so the download status bar just zipped past from start to end. Installation of the CryptExpert 2007 Lite is a 4-Step process. Let's see what it is.
The first screen asks you to select the location of the container where all the encrypted data will be stored.
The second screen lets you choose the encryption mechanisms like HMAC SHA1 and HMAC RIPMED 160. If you are not too sure about which one to choose, let the default settings stay.

I have used a better software called WinEncrypt CryptArchiver from www.WinEncrypt.com which has all these features in the free version, and also feature to encrypt USB drives, and create self-extracting encrypted .exe files. This is also a free version.

arun madan, Rigndael algorithm is only current AES By the way there are too much good open source softwares like true crypt are there, so why this commercial version? In true crypt we can use about 10 algorithms including AES 256 and we can create "hidden volume" in which we can hide more sensitive information in case somebody retrieves the primary password.

This one is good but for simple security u can use "Hide files & folder".i m using it for a long and it's good enough to secure my files and above all the program hides itself also. u can't find it in "Add or remove programs" so nobody gets a hint about it.

dear here we r not talking about applying simple attribute to file to hide it, we r talking about organizational business security a complex algorithm of making passwords. TRY BESTCRYPT ITS FAAR BETTER THAN THIS SOFTWERE . FOR FOR ENCRYPTING PASSWORD BEST ALGORITHM IS AES METHOD.

Good info... The cost of full version is also good.. Another software which I had used which costs more & provides these features is DriveCrypt... But its more complex for new users... Will definitely try this one...Anyway for small data this Lite version seems OK for most...
