Although the camera we have today was released along with the A630 (which we reviewed some time back), it's just becoming popular here, in the Indian market. Maybe it's due to the fact that people have realized why we need a camera that captures more pixels or maybe they just believe in the bigger-is-better notion. Either ways, it's a win-win situation.

i bought this in dubai costing AED 1450 ( INR 17400) inclusive of carry case,1GB SD CARD,LENS CLEANER,Battery charger and rechargable batteries. The Camera results are really good. The best is it is very easy to use. Without reading the manual i can get on with it .

The Canon A640 is an amazingly good camera.I 've recently used it very extensively in Africa with excellent results.I would strongly recommend this to anyone contemplating on buying a digital camera.

you can rotate the display inward and use the zoom-coupled optical viewfinder. But while using the optical viewfinder, do remember that it only views about 80-85% of the captured image. ---Are u sure its an optical view finder..or an EVF ?

I really believe that the Digicam of choice is not A-640, or A-630, my vote will overwhelmings go to another Canon Gem -A710IS- and superior 7 MP Digicam with an outstanding 6X Optical Zoom from 35 wide to 210mm telephoto and an exellent feature of Image Stablisation. This is being rated even higher than A-640 & is of ourse cheaper too. ( VFM )
