Calgoo: Syncing Calendars

Calgoo: Syncing Calendars

If you're the organised kind, you might want to check out Calgoo, a cross-platform app that lets you sync calendar data with many popular calendars -- including Google and Outlook

Easy to set up and use, good syncing, very Outlook-like.

A memory hog, still a bit buggy, sluggish at times.

Clicking on the little pen-like icon will bring up a full-fledged event manager like that of Outlook, replete with reminders, alarms, repeats, attendees, description, and more. Also, wonderfully, drag-n-drop works well between different times and dates.

Syncing the calendar in the free version is always manual; the shortcut is conveniently set to F5. The syncing is instantaneous -- that is, it's immediately reflected, whether it's changed from Google or from Calgoo. However, syncing the calendar is not the same as sharing it.

For sharing the Calendar, you need to use the Calgoo Hub. Double-click your calendar on the left under My Calendars. Here you'll see details about whether your calendar is shared or not.

For sharing, you need to get a free account with Calgoo, through which you can set up calendars across any calendar platform irrespective of OS, and that's what the first option you were presented with after install was about. We would have loved to talk about the ability to share through the Calgoo Hub, but we kept encountering connection issues after having set up an account. As soon as the issue is cleared, we'll present an update.
