Pen drives have various applications and are not consumer type oriented. As long as you've data to manage, you'll require one. You have many options to choose from, and we've now and then been showing you which of them offer good value for money.

Buffalo has recently unloaded its pen-drive range -- the "Type-E Series" -- into the Indian market. I've 2 such drives with me today. The difference between the 2 is mainly of capacity. Both claim to perform 16% faster than standard drives. Let's put that claim, among its other features, to the test.

Turbo USB

Turbo USB is what supposedly gives the Type-E Series the speed edge over other pen drives. This utility must be activated to achieve the claimed 16% faster performance. We shall see if it does under the "Real-world Test" section of performance test of both the drives.

Secure Lock Ware Mobile

Secure Lock Ware Mobile is a software security tool from Buffalo. Earlier, we'd seen Secure Lock Ware bundled with the Buffalo DriveStation. The Mobile version of this tool is for use with the smaller capacity pen drives. It offers a range of security options to encrypt your confidential data and portable media. It encrypts and helps protect data from theft, misplacement, and unauthorized access using 128 or 256-bit AES encryption. You can either choose to encrypt the entire drive or just a selection of folders.

It's made in Taiwan. That's good enuf for me. I hate made in china. Stop buying made in china products and funding the PRK army against india.

For peeps who say Kingston is more reliable then Buffalo. They dont know about what the brand Buffalo is. It might be true that this particular product doesnt have anything special, but doesnt mean buffalo is not that reliable. And I wouldnt buy any product with software assisted boosting. Its useless.

Great review. However if I were to buy a pendrive today, I would definitely opt for Kingston, since this is the most reliable brand.
