Battlefield Bad Company (Xbox360 Demo Impressions)

I remember playing Call of Duty 4 and saying to myself, this is as awesome as virtual war can be. Deep down I knew that even COD 4 would be preceded by another title, but not so soon. Now don't get me wrong; I don't mean to say that Battlefield Bad Company (BF BC) is better than COD 4. My intentions are to indicate that the environment of war is aptly recreated in BF BC, even though its just a demo. There are many things that bring this Battlefield to life. Read on to know more.
Game Summary
There are a few things that you should know about Battlefield Bad Company and what makes it an interesting game. You can destroy 90% of the environment; for me that's the most interesting aspect of the game. The engine called Frostbite is amazing. Not only is it heavily optimized to run smooth on the Xbox 360, it also looks great and lets you destroy anything from fences to solid objects to entire buildings, yes entire buildings. This leads to the feeling of freedom that gamers have experienced in only select titles, and never on a console. I remember shooting down entire wall sections to reveal the enemy behind, the only thing remaining was am exclamation point on their head to visualize their surprise.
The demo starts off with you teaming up with a bunch of eccentric characters namely Haggard, Sweetwater and Sergeant Redford. These are some really whacky characters; the kind that play Rock-Paper-Scissor on the battlefield; more on them in the full review. You are a new recruit and in really bad shape, you are told to use the Auto-Injector, a really helpful device that injects life into you, literally. Once that is done, you start off with your mission to kill some enemy soldiers on a nearby farm.
To be honest FPS shooters have never really innovated any aspect of gameplay, this is still the same run and gun, with an improved engine. During war there is a lot of activity going in a single frame, which is obvious but this time around the game does not suck the life out the Xbox and renders the beautiful explosions very nicely. The enemy is heavily equipped with explosives including rocket launchers and grenades; fortunately they drop them after getting killed. You will end up using the explosives more than most FPS shooters you have played, as the constant need to blow the enemy cover is both essential and fun. If your health runs low during combat just inject some more life using the Auto Injector, which replenishes after some time.

You say that this kind of destruction hasnt been seen yet on console yet 'Mercenaries' has this way back on the original xbox. Whats with that?

This game is not all its cut out to be. The online Multiplayer demo SUCKS. Sniping is a waste of time as I can do better with my pistol. The game is very jumpy and does not run well at all on the 360 when you get into the heat of battle. You cannot shoot while running. You cannot lay on the ground only crouch. Call of Duty 4 blows this game out of the water completely.

It's like CoD4 with destructible environements, more vehicles then Halo, and great gadgets. Easily going to be one of the greatest shooters of all time.
