Asus U6S

Asus U6S

Frazier Barretto, Jun 16, 2008 1241 hrs IST

Asus has just launched the U6S, the base model which gave birth to the Lamborghini VX3. Is it worth its deal?

Good performance, Sharp 12.1-inch screen, Light weight, Battery.

A bit expensive, Could do with a better GPU (NVIDIA 8400M).

Well, Sony Ericsson have been covering this one up until now. Their uber cameraphone is finally in the wild with all the sweet details. The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot codenamed Shiho is an 8 megapixel shooter and believe us when we saw this - this one is not a mock up!!! The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot packs auto focus ,face detection, image stabilization and both a xenon and a photo flash as well as a nice new feature called Smart Contrast. The C905 photos can be geotagged thanks to the built-in GPS receiver. The accelerometer will allow for screen auto rotation when you go through your camera album. It?s also got a TV-out port for watching your images on the TV. The Sony Ericsson C905 is also armed with a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover. It?s the first Sony Ericsson feature phone to feature Wi-Fi support - and there?s even more. The Wi-Fi feature supports DLNA, which is basically a wireless media sharing protocol that runs on top of Wi-Fi. Nokia N96 has it too by the way. The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot is somewhere in the line of 104 x 49 x 18 (or 19.5) millimetres and weighs good 136 grams. It?ll be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4 2008 with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2. Connectivity wise, it comes in three variants, two with full support for UMTS and HSDPA for the respective regions (yes, the Americas too). The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks.

How the heck can this perform better than a t9300 and 8400GS equipped dell xps m1330 for your info t9300 has more L2 cache then t8300 and 8400gs is a better card then 8300g

This is by far the worst review. Readers & Dell should sue techtree morons for trying to mislead everyone. How can Merom(T7700-2.4Ghz 4MB Cache) processor used in Asus be better than Penryn(T9500-2.6Ghz 6MB Cache) used in Dell

We seem to have had a flood of Asus Laptop reviews- all of a sudden !! and TT is singing praises of this overpriced laptop brand.- like promoting a 95k lappy over an obviously superior mainstream Dell XPS M-1330 ( FB the OLED screen 1330 is simply a great laptop- a friend has it- U should see it at least.. Guys- do some main stream laptop brands reviews also- like Dell, HP. Techtree readers do buy them also!!

For a portable high end laptop i think much better would be the Dell xps 1330- with slim & light OLED display-palmrest with fingerprint reader-advanced T9300 processor with 6 MB Cache-web cam- 3 GB RAM-8400GS video card-and all bells & whistles- far superior Dell support and of course with a 9 cell batt. giving 6 Hrs back up. I think a much much better bargain for 80k.
