Pitted as a competitor to the HTC Touch, let's find out how the Asus P320 PDA Phone performs.
Small size and lightweight, GPS module, Wi-Fi, Windows Mobile 6.1, Well-priced
Side buttons not easy to use, Stylus dependency, Unsatisfactory battery life, No microSD card bundled, Low data transfer rates
PDA phones (or touch screen Pocket PCs) till recently could be operated with the use of the stylus. But with the advent of finger-friendly touch screen devices (read iPhone), the stylus started taking a backseat. One device made waves with its innovative, never-seen-before interface in the stylus-dependent Windows Mobile based phones. It was the HTC Touch. Today we have in the labs its competitor from Asus. The P320 seems to mimic the Touch's spec sheet, give or take a few things here and there. But will it manage to Touch our hearts like the HTC did?

If the person reviewing this phone has a problem in figuring out how to put in the SIMcard, he really shouldnt be reviewing phones, he should probably sell vegetables.

Hi guys, any of u have the satguide bundled with the 527?? If u do...i would like to buy it ...Also...what r the major problems with the 320...like..i have a very limited usage of this phone...i have another one for calling..this one i want for the winmo usage...i have had the touch earlier...and wanna go in for this one for the more amount of features..also please solve these queries: 1. the touch was very sluggish at times...any such problems? 2. Does the smaller screen actually hamper usability much. 3. After installing applications, does the phone become super slow.?? 4. How's the video and music playback? Thanx in advance....

How can you blindly recommend the Touch ??? This phone is very useful for those who want GPS at a low price. Does the Touch have GPS ??? I hope you know a decent GPS module comes for nothing less than 6k (without display). The ASUS has everything the Touch has AND a Gps unit.

What good is a phone that may have many features, but can't get the basics right? The asus p320 suffers from low battery life and it doesn't hold the signal too well among few other flaws. Why would I recommend such a phone just because its got a GPS module. If somebody wanted a cheap but good GPS phone, I'd rather ask the person to get a Nokia 6110 navigator or increase the budget and get the HTC P3470 if he or she wants windows mobile specifically. Thus I said that the p320 looks good on paper, but after using it, it made me think otherwise.

I agree with Brendon. After using both the phones for a while ( HTC for Six months and Asus 320 for about 3 weeks) I feel like HTC touch is nowhere near Asus in terms of functionality. Battery life is decent for a phone this size and it lasts for a day and half without any troubles. I feel like the person who's reviewed has not used the phone for a decent time. I too had this kind of openion initially.

Again you are comparing apples to oranges. The HTC 3470 is a again not a perfect comparison with this phone as the HTC 3470 lacks Wifi which is rather big negative point. The main features of the P320 is its WM 6.1 OS and the GPS unit without which this is a very ordinary phone. Even the Nokia 6110 is a bad comparison as it lacks a touch screen and has Symbian OS not Windows. Very few people will buy this phone for its camera.

does anyone know the asus service centre in the ncr or ghaziabad side. my phone is barely a month old and is constantly getting hanged. seems like there is a problem with the lock key on the RHS.

This handset fails to catch the network where network signal strength is weak as compared to Nokia, SE handsets. Any solution to this problem?

Wow, you really are dumb, the volume keys are used to switch the phone to vibrate, not the stylus.

Not to comment but to ask for advice. I want an affordable GPS phone. Do you think the asus p320 is a good buy. I read that data download is slow.

I have the phone, and its great. GPS is slow everywhere, i have a GARMIN GPS device and it takes 1 minute to find my position. The phone on an average takes 50 seconds to 1 minute 20 seconds initially after that its fast. There is no problem in its GPS.
