I had mentioned earlier in my Apple iPod Nano review about the iPod taking the world over by storm. It brought some innovative features to the table. In mid-June of 2007, the world witnessed another marvel from Apple -- the iPhone. Touted as the "Invention of the Year" by Time magazine, it was Apple's first iPod with a large touch-screen display. Just 3 months after iPhone's launch, another device bearing similar characteristics came into existence. It was called the iPod Touch.

The iPod Touch is positioned as a premium segment iPod. It holds a few additional tricks up its sleeve as compared to other iPods. An iPod Touch essentially is an iPhone minus the phone. The design and the interface is almost the same. No wonder it didn't take Apple too long to come up with such a device.

Bundle

- Apple iPod Touch
- Standard iPod Ear-phones
- Sync/Charging cable
- iPod Dock Connector
- Polishing cloth

only 4 thinks i like about iTouch-looks-UI-flash-memory-touchscreen -------------- i would certainly love to have it, if it was 8000/- fro 8GB... i would love to have an 8GB nano of older gen for 4000/- too lol. ------------- Its an Audio player with a big touchscreen...lol. tell it to beat the 800x480 pixel (216 dpi) screen of the archos 605, or the HDD capacity (upto 160GB) of vision W/ A605. Or the codec support. ------------- (iPhone has 640x320 <200dpi, dpi is very important in PMPs coz you hold it close to your eyes, you cant see any pixels in a605, no matter how close you hold it, like photographs, they should have min. of 200 dpi, u dont see any pixels)

yes the definition of iTouch according to me is a digital audio player with a big screen that has a good dpi and touchscreen features.--------------- coz videos occupy space, and certainly 8GB/16GB is not intended for videos... LOL.... I have half og my 160 GB of my PMP HDD already filled with my favourites.

Mr.Rohan Naravane, you are the reviewer of the i touch? Do you copy paste stuff from other sites or make an effort to really review anything? I see that you have a picture of the I Touch screen with Cingular and GSM signalbar displayed on the screen!! From when did apple have the Itouch with GSM capabilities?? lol

The iPhone and the iPod Touch have the same safari web browser. That screenshot was taken from the internet for representational purposes only.

If the Apple iPod Nano got 4-1/2 stars as rating by TT- certainly the gem that Apple iPod Touch is - definitely deserves more than 4 stars !!

Agreed..... Well to be honest I think the nano is last gen ipod .Techtree so on what counts is the nano better? Portability is the only thing I can think about .....

Well, that's not how the rating system works. We are not trying to pit one product against the other. The iPod Nano and the Touch are two different devices. They cannot be compared due to their difference in physical aspects, functionalities and price-points. The iPod nano did not have as many drawbacks as the Touch did and thus it deserved a 4.5 star rating, whereas the Touch landed with a 4 star rating.

And the rating also includes value for money. So it is not about iPod Nano vs iPod Touch but the overall package one gets for Rs. 7000 vs Rs. 17500.

this mp3swings def snds like a freak..!cowon has been the underdog in this industry..theyve serisouly gt the bestline up of players wit excellent musik n vid capabilities..any techie would knw that..i guess cowon is more for ppl with high taste n understand the dynamics of technology..other brands are more mass market..less features/quality less price..more features/better quality more price..its a simple equation.!

I have many favorite dvds and videos. Some days ago , I want to put them onto my ipod video , some friends recommend a software to me at http://www.oursdownload.com/convert-DVD-video-to-iPod-video.html It works pretty good . I am very glad .

almost all reviews at TT are som kind of copy paste of product features. 1> On page 5(performance), Picture of the screen shows a GSM signal bar active and "Cingular" displayed as the mobile carrier. Is this a copy paste product review or a big joke?

with the latest software update, you can add new events to the Calendar on the Touch. It will only add them to one Calendar that you have to designate prior to syncing though.

Well, that was my observation during the test period. The large screen and the Wi-Fi module does require considerable amount of power and the result that i got with it was pretty satisfying to me.

Techtree, it is bad manners to cut, copy and paste from other sites. It is extremely rude not to mention the source. You mean to tell me that your reporter actually reviewed an Ipod Touch and it had iphone capabilities? http://images.techtree.com/ttimages/story/85059_iphone-browser.jpg is an IPhone :p
