2006 is almost histroy; it sure was one gaming year with lot of hyped and not-so-hyped titles entering the realm. Let's crown the best of 'em!
Expert Review
Genre: SportsNominees:Pro Evolution Soccer 6
PES 6 features the graphical and gameplay tweaks that enable each new title to play in a completely different way than previous incarnations. The shooting system has been the subject of extensive retouching, now enabling players to pull off much more accurate snap shots as well as exerting a much larger feeling of control when going for quick half volleys or difficult full volleys.
The intelligence of players has seen a marked improvement. For example, players now make more realistic runs into space, often pointing where they would like the ball played. The physical aspect has also been beefed up, with strikers using their sheer presence to turn defenders and likewise, the defenders stepping a yard away to enable them to force players away from goal and not letting them spin into dangerous positions. PES 6 is a very popular competitor to EA's Fifa 2007.
Fifa 2007
The Fifa series is the most popular choice amongst football fans; it has been so for almost a decade now. Every year a new installment of Fifa is released, improving on the gameplay and graphics.
Last year's Fifa 2006 was the best installment ever, not only because of graphics; it was way better in game play as well. This time around Fifa is even better with awesome graphics and great gameplay additions. It's smoother, faster, and more realistic.
Relish every scintillating victory over bitter rivals and fume through every gut-wrenching poor performance at home. Savor the spine-tingling stadium atmosphere, home and away, as your team battles their way up the league table. Listen as your supporters chanting your players' names and bellow all the rousing club songs through rain and shine.
Winner:
PES 6, because it is better than Fifa, will always be better than Fifa, and is the best Football adaptation ever.
That's it guys; this sure was a trip down memory lane, at least for the year gone-by; keep watching this space for the games to look forward to in the next one; till then; keep playing, keep visiting Techtree.
I disagree with the FPS genre, prey as a single player has nothing but eye candy. Its only multiplayer where it shines. Graw in the other hands shines everywhere
