Webcams have been around forever and security cams have been around even longer. With their similar features, it's no wonder people wrote software to bridge the gap. However, not all applications are created equal, so let's see how well Active Webcam fares.
The Software
Active Webcam is software to turn your webcam into a surveillance camera. Installation is fast, and it gets done within a few clicks. The interface is complicated but that's just because the software can do only so much.
The program window is divided into the menu, the strip where you can select which webcam to use (several can be monitored at the same time), and the webcam's interface. The webcam options in its window include the play, pause, stop, record, and frame switching buttons. It supports pan and zoom, but your webcam must support it as well.
Using it
The below, 'Create a Camera' page is the first thing you see when you start up the program if you haven't created a connection already. Let's take a look at each of the menu options.
Device
As you can see, you have a choice of using a local or network webcam or connecting to a copy of the program on a remote computer connected to a webcam. In the last option, the program acts merely as a conduit for the remote version of the software.

The cost is 29$ as it says in the conclusion. Right now a direct conversion using the exchange rate gives a price of Rs. 1,243.76
