Finally a retail version of the infamous Radeon HD 4870, but how much has it really improved?
Good Performance, Overclocks easily, Good bundle.
Nominal performance gain after overclocking, Fan is noisy above 50% speed, Pricing could have been a bit more aggressive.
After the evaluation version of the card gave us some impressive performance we couldn't wait to get our hands on a proper retail version of the ASUS 4870, also known as the ASUS EAH 4870. There are 3 flavors of this card and we have the one that has the free bundled game.
The other versions are the TOP edition and the standard edition (with no game bundle). The speed of the core and the frequency remain the same as the stock at 750MHz and 3600MHz for the memory. The memory type is again the same GDDR5 and there's 512MB of it onboard.
