A lot is being written about Nokia Cell-phones but the Nokia Company is is cheating and befooling its consumers by offering sub standard products and very bad and deplorable after sales service through its Nokia Care Centres in India. I am also one of the worst victims of the evil gesign of the company. I purchased a Nokia-6300 mobile phone in August, 2007 on payment of Rs.8700/- The hand set was a defective one and started giving trouble from the very begining. It has become non usable now, I took the set to its Nokia Care Centre and after 2 days it was returned to me unrepaired with broken memory card. When I took up the matter with them I was flatly and arrogantly told that nothing could be done. I took up matter with its central Nokia Care and followed up by sending numerous Ee-mails and phone calls but nothing transpired and the apathetic attitude and indifference to my grievances is criminal and deplorable. I have now decided to take recourse to legal process for redressal of my genuine grievances. I would request the intending purchasers of mobile sets not to touch Nokia mobile sets as the company is selling substandard and defective sets in India. - Alok K. I am using this phone for about a year. My opinions are: 1. This is an excellent phone with good features. 2. Since I used 6600 and 3100 before this, I feel it is faster than 6600 and is a much improved version of 3100 (which I was quite happy with). However, it lacks the smartphone keys and symbian, so this will need getting used to. 3. I tried an HP iPaq for some time (a couple of weeks) with Windows Mobile but sadly, the features there were quite limited and I am happy to get back to my ever reliable 6233. 4. The sound quality is quite good (better than most Nokia phones) but may not match up to specialised SE phones. 5. The video quality is acceptable. 6. If you can keep your hand firm while shooting, it can take good still pictures. However, moving pictures and night mode views are poor. Try using the D pad key for clicking instead of the shutter on the side as it is hard to click, causing shakes. 7. As a basic phone, this is quite fine. 8. It takes a little long to charge. Battery life is decent - up to 3 days for normal usage. 9. Looks are ordinary. This is more of a phone that you buy when you need a good phone and not one that you are attracted to. 10. The charger uses the new thin pin, so you need to carry the charger with you as chargers for older phones won't work with this. This is a slight disadvantage because one of the reasons people buy Nokia is that they can easily get a charger from the vast number of other users in an emergency. Do keep this factor in mind.

I?ve just updated my old Nokia 3310 to a Nokia 6233 2 weeks ago, it still has the same backlight problem and it keeps lighting up unexpectedly as in the ?zolton? item in Nov 06 so I guess that in the past 12 months Nokia have not been able to come up with a firmware update to cure this problem. I have potentially a more dangerous scenario, I?ve just had a new ?hands free? car kit fitted and during my hour plus journey home the phone display lit up brightly 8 or 9 times, very distracting and potentially dangerous. I can?t be the only person to experience this problem, there has to be a fix for this, it could cause an accident. Battery power isn?t an issue when in the car so as part of the car profile the backlight could be on all the time with a dark screensaver to reduce the glare. Come on Nokia, you owe it to your customers to fix this.

Nokia 6233 is great! But all its greatness dissolves when u need a software to be installed on it. This phone does not have a symbian os and God forbid, if u ever need to install an antivirus software, it would be better to fling your phone towards the ocean!!!!!!!!

Go for SE K550i. (Successor of K750i.) Its battery life is superb, display really looks cool (even though its res. is 176x220 as compared to 6233 with 240x320) Regarding sound clarity, no one can beat SE. And of course you get 2MP camera with A/F and dual LED Flash.

this is a very cool fone with great features great looks and a great camera. but there are 2 major CONS which every fone buyer must consider before buying. 1-series 40 so no symbian os software which is really stupid. 2-camera image saving time is absurdly long.

Re: Arko You're phone's internal memory consists of applications, messages, gallery (pictures, MP3 etc. if any) and cache memory of your WAP browser. Try to delete the cache memory by going to web,web options then click "clear the cache." Delete unnecessary Text messages because this eats up space too.

I bought a Nokia 6233 just 2 months back...its giving problems now. it doesn't catch network now..have given it Nokia Care center..but they are taking time to repair it since it is under warranty. I don't understand how can nokia give its care center to such unprofessional people. Hav decided to buy some other brand next time for sure.

I have exactly the same problem. This problem first happen in the first month. I sent it to Nokia for repair and it worked for another month or so. Now it has happen again and i have only had this phone a total of 4 months! Do not buy this phone as it is highly unreliable IMO

S40 3rd edition is Nokia OS not Symbian OS. The phone supports Java apps/games only. Jars only and No SIS =).

ur phone is 2.1 so if u r at all able to connect with the 5.1 then u will get 2.1 out put unless u have pro logic in ur 5.1 or spatial stereo. beside if u have the bucks go in for the mobile player from bose or creative will do just fine

Does the default settings for gprs/mms/wap in the configurations work for BSNL Cellone postpaid (West Zone / Maharashtra)? Mine Doesn't. Can anyone using this phone and having working gprs (Cellone postpaid in West zone) give me advice on how to get this phone to work in data/GPRS mode? My SIm workes beautifully to access GPRS in a Motorola L-7 but fails in the N-6233

u might have probably used the default setting given with the phone. it is better u contact the cus care and ask for the full gprs setting with mms and internet facility. they will send it and u save it with the pin code default 1111. then u will see it runs fine. i faced the prob but it is nor running very good. great phone
