The iPhone 3G and the BlackBerry Bold have been directly pitted against each other. Let's see who comes out on top.
As reported yesterday, Boy Genius Report gave us a detailed first review of the BlackBerry Bold, scheduled to hit the stores next month.
What they also did was to pit the Bold against the iPhone 3G and the result is the first ever iPhone vs BlackBerry story. They did have interesting results as far as some of the features are concerned, but who takes the crown? Read on.
Design-wise, the phones are quite dissimilar. The iPhone has the sleek, mimimalistic approach to design while the BlackBerry adds the already rich corporate touch to the phone with the excellent QWERTY keyboard and a great screen. Even though the approach to design is different, it's clear that the iPhone would take the crown easily had there been a beauty contest for phones.

Everyone forgets a very basic fact: the Blackberry has a physical keyboard, which makes texting and other apps worlds more convenient.

Very broad comparision, based on outer look & the OS. Should have more things to compare. More over there are a lot of apps out there which run on blackberry. Iphone apps were launched just few weeks back. Anyways Blackberry is better anyday with more practically usable features.

biggest difference is that if you do a lot of email, blackberry is better. otherwise if you mostly browse, listen to music, take pics etc., then iphone is better.

We have both the iPhone and a Blackberry Curve. While the iPhone might look sexier, functionality-wise, if the Bold has the same capability as the Curve, with added functionality such as Wifi and an enhanced screen, it is no contest, the Blackberry wins. I mean, for example, the iPhone can not deal with contacts on a SIM card; you have to manually load them in. How bush is that?

What do you mean manually load them in? I inserted my SIM from my Blackberry and imported my contacts right over into my iPhone...
