The effort has been initiated to educate people, especially the youth, about the wisdom conveyed in the ancient texts, and revive Sanskrit for the modern age.

Sanskrit enthusiasts now have another reason to chant verses in the ancient language every morning -- apart from their love for it. "Sanskrit Voice Digest", is offering a morning dose of Sanskrit articles written by qualified writers.

The Web site has partnered with blog-authors as well as some organizations to gather content. With its magazine-like layout, the Digest intends to make it easy for readers to keep tabs on all Sanskrit related articles in one place.

The effort has been initiated to educate people, especially the youth, about the wisdom conveyed in the ancient texts, and revive Sanskrit for the modern age.

The Digest has articles in nearly 10 categories that revolve around Sanskrit. It includes "Sanskrit Quotes" written by Kiran Paranjape, Indic Blogger Awardee for best blog in Sanskrit. The 'subhashitanis' includes verses from the Panchatantra, Bhartrihari's Nitishatakam, and the Bhagvad Gita compiled by Karthik Raman.

The Digest also compiles articles on Sanskrit literature written by Kannan Srininvas, author of the book "Vedic Management", and Venetia Ansell, an English girl from Oxford University.

The Web site offers RSS feeds, widgets, and campaign buttons providing easy ways for readers to follow the updates, or learn Sanskrit glossary every day. Enthusiasts can visit the "Sanskrit Voice Digest" here.

This is a great effort. I am a Sanskrit enthusiast. My mother had a firm belief that shlokas when chanted in Sanskrit with proper pronounciation have real power. Does the digest also explain the purport of the Sanskrit text in English or Hindi?
