Come August, Microsoft will upgrade its Xbox 360 gaming console with a new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The new GPU, codenamed "Jasper," is based on the 65nm manufacturing process, replacing the existing 90nm process GPU. Among the obvious benefits of the new GPU is lesser power consumption.
Xbox 360 has been plagued by the Ring of Death (RoD) issue, and "Jasper" promises to rectify that by preventing overheating -- the cause of RoD.
A leading tech Web site reports that the 65nm Xenon microprocessors found inside the Xbox 360 are packaged and tested by IBM (International Business Machines), and that both the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and the northbridge (memory controller hub) are made by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
so what happens to the rest of the xbox 360 owners who have bought it already...... left for RRoD
