The GeForce 9600 GT claims much greater performance than any GeForce card in its class
XFX has launched its first 9000 series graphics card in India, featuring PureVideo HD technology enabling HD-DVD and Blu-ray video playback. The GeForce 9600 GT claims up to 90 percent greater performance than any GeForce card in its class.
The card offers support for DirectX 10 and is HDMI-capable. It features Nvidia's Quantum Effects technology, the Lumenex engine, as well as a Unified Architecture, which is good news for those who want to play the latest games. The GPU runs at 650 MHz, with XFX-overclocked versions available in the Extreme and XXX editions, pushing it to 680 and 700 MHz respectively.
Compatible with PCI-Express and PCI-Express 2.0, the GeForce 9600 GT promises top-notch capability and performance for OpenGL applications. Users can expect realistic game effects in titles such as Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, and more. Naturally, the card also promises a premium 3D experience with Windows Vista and Windows Media Center.

couldnt agree more. i bought my 9800gtx off ebay last week for 11k inclusive of shipping. same card costs 23.1k in india. ridiculous.

looking at this we will just have to wait and see what the performance for the higher end cards will be like 9800GT,9800GTX. But the 8800gt is a better option cheaper and much the same features. But this card supports DX10.1,pcie2.0 8 series dont!! In terms of long term investment 9series is a better choice. Rashi is a fool, their products are grossly over priced. XFX should really get another dealer in india. BTW when the hell is nvidia releasing the physx drivers for their card 8series??

The card is actually better, for better pricing please check in local market

Stupid pricing. The card is under $200 in the US & that means it should be available for $250-275 in India. BTW guys who want are looking forward to buy this card should consider buying 8800GT, as that card performs a little better.

check it in local market, it is available at reasonable price in India.

Waayyy to overpriced!! For the same price you can get a better performing 8800GT which has more raw processing power than the 9600GT

Stupid Pricing.Video Cards in India, sell at double the (estimated retail price ) of the cards in US. Moreover this is a mid-range card. If this goes on, well soon the pcgaming in India will die!!!! Nvidia should do something about this.
