Acer laptops will now come with Seagate hard drives, reportedly making them the world's highest capacity notebooks.

Seagate's new Momentus 5400.6 500GB hard drives will power Acer laptops, making them the fastest and highest capacity notebooks available in the market. The Momentus 5400.6 2.5-inch HDD is the latest offering from Seagate.

The drive has perpendicular magnetic recording technology combined with SATA interface that allows the drive to attain a data transfer speed of 87Mbps, fastest available for a 5400-rpm notebook drive.

Apart from the high speed and capacity, the drive also integrates G-Force Protection. G-Force Protection is a free-fall sensor technology that helps prevent drive damage and data loss upon impact if a notebook PC is dropped.
