Windows XP Gets 6 More Months

Seems Microsoft has decided to let XP live for a little longer period
Microsoft has decided to let XP live for six more months. An email that OEM had sent internally to their employees was apparently leaked information about the Windows XP's extended life.
Microsoft had announced that the Vista to XP downgrade option will available till January 31, 2009. This was followed by the protests to save Windows XP whose sale was going to end by June 30, 2008. As per the leaked email, this date has been pushed to July 31, 2009 and so the OEMs can offer Vista to XP downgrade discs till end of July.
This information is from insider and doesn't reflect at the Microsoft's Windows Life-Cycle Policy page that they display at their site.
To be noted, Windows XP extension date falls close to the anticipated launch of the new Microsoft operating system -- Windows 7. Also, the existing Windows Vista is being pushed ahead with the help of numerous ad campaigns and experiments. However, all the three OS - XP, Vista and Windows 7 (beta) might exist at the time of XP's pre-determined demise. So, this may lead to an interesting comparison scenario between these three operating systems.
