It was just yesterday that we wrote about a new keyboard said to be on the anvil for the next iteration of Windows Mobile 6.5 which is has seen quite a few updates since its initial launch last month.

A day later, we have more news on the OS. Apparently, Microsoft is planning more updates for it so that it can at least stand up to the other "user-friendlier" operating systems out there. Windows Mobile 6.5 as mentioned many times in the past is a stopgap OS to ensure Windows Mobile remains an attractive option for consumers even as Microsoft continues to develop it's next major iteration, the much awaited Windows Mobile 7.

Coming back to this updated edition of Windows Mobile 6.5, we can expect to see lots of feature additions that will make the OS capacitive screen friendly. The most noticeable changes are the larger buttons, which will make the phones with the OS a lot easier to use. The tiny buttons on the top bar too have been replaced. Users, especially those on capacitive touchscreens, would have faced lots of issues with tiny icons since those were more stylus friendly and optimized for resistive screens.

While it is not clear when this update is set to arrive, there has been some sort of official confirmation from a Microsoft official that this indeed is coming, and that it is very much official.
