Where is Satyam's Ramalinga Raju? Google Answers

Comments flood social networking websites and resumes flood job portals; "Satyam" becomes the most looked up word online

The online buzz the corporate calamity, the ongoing Satyam saga, created is something worth talking about.

Whether it is social networking websites, job portals, or individual blogs, this news has triggered action everywhere. Suddenly people have something to think about, discuss, and comment on. These include complaints and abuses against the company as well as sympathetic statements in its favor, with many other emotions just waiting to be unlocked.

To start off with, the word "Satyam" or those associated with it were the most looked up on Google yesterday. Terms like "Satyam press conference", "Where is Ramalinga Raju?", "Satyam Scam", "PWC Satyam", and "Satyam.com" flooded the search page.

With reports that Satyam is now planning to axe 10,000 employees off the company rolls, crestfallen employees are venting their grievances on various community websites. Orkut's Satyam community is buzzing since this news leaked out. All sorts of comments, including many positive ones from Satyam employees, have flooded Orkut pages.

Apart from Orkut, discussions and debates have been ignited on Twitter, Mouthshut, and Facebook. People have been updating each other by posting news links on these websites. What comes through when we read such comments is that there is a feeling of underlying unity amongst Satyam employees, that they should hold on to each other and not just condemn the company.

Job portals like Naukri, Timesjobs, Monster have also seen a jump in the number of resumes posted by Satyam employees. This was also noticed when Lehman was declared bankrupt a few months back. It is only natural that worried employees would post their resumes on job sites when their job security is at stake.

Apart from all the sad and serious discussions attached to the episode, there are some bloggers who are looking at the funny side of things. We spotted a blog from Kaps that was hilarious. Titled "Satyam's Ten Point Plan to Boost Employee Confidence", this blog looks at the lighter side of the saga and proves a good break from the serious posts elsewhere. Many websites have also come up with jokes on IT companies and about what Satyam should do now.

Don't you think Internet has revolutionized the way we express ourselves and that it has become a movement in itself? Are you using it as your mouthpiece too? Do let us know your observations in the comments section below.

Raju sir has been sinsearly accepted his crime, according to my knowledge even one person has not been accepted their crimes, as many persons done crimes but Raju sir did that work. More over he has not done any crimes because, Satyam computers has good frame so it can achive profits in future. According to may knowledge, if quartly results are announced the equity shareholders were enjoying the profits, so in the same manner even they should enjoy the loss which has been occured. As real esates where bhoom last year many investors, investors there money in real esates the same thing raju sir did.If his expections were corredt the company use to get lot of profits, but it was his faith. Maytas company has lot of projects, so Satyam company can be recovered some part of amount,by this it can be overcome some losses. So plz i requist dont blame Raju sir and plz reliese Raju sir and plz dont arrest him.

And please, if you are aware of what raju has done for this country and society for last 25 years, stop commenting on him. And if you dont know, better you uppdate yourself with his biography. Well said ankit :) Ramalingaraju was a great man who have upheld the pride of the country. ofcourse any business man would not tell that their company is facing loses and ramalinga raju did the same thing. I would support him strongly in this case. why don't you give him a chance. when company is in profits no one interrupted. Now when you feel that this is a scan you start blaming him. This was rediculous. Get to know the history of satyam company first.

i understand ur feeling prudhvi, problem is persons like ramalinga raju whipped the frenzy of software industry, increased the prizes of all commodities, land, a 500 sq.feet house has become out of reach for common man, a techie without basic knowledge gets lakhs of rupees salary, a man with abundent exposure and knowledge who toil in public sector gets less money, i am not surprised this generation can watch rape in the drawing room will always justify ramalinga raju's action.

can any body tell the number of companies owned by rajus, will SEBI, ROC give the companies list in hyderabad with any "RAJU" Name, why sreeni raju left satyam an year ahead of the trouble , there are atleast 50 companies in which raju's are involved,

by subramanian, chennai, on Jan 11, 2009 04:59 AM, Report abuse

raju was probably helping the previous political masters in the state hiding their ill gotten and stolen money in his company accounts and was probably helping them to launder it abroad. but with setting up of maytas and winning important contracts from the present political masters, the previous political masters of the state probably withdrew their money leaving raju high and dry that is why wesuddenly find ramalinga raju and his group suddenly broke.the previous political masters helped rajus with medical colleges engineering colleges and ofcourse satyam. unlike many other software ceos raju is only an mba not a software engineer

Don't distort logos, please. It's illegal and unethical. Act responsible, not like some immature college-goer who has just learnt the joys of distorting images with photoshop.

Hi Radhika, The image source has been provided at the end of the article and it wasn't created by Techtree. Also, the logo was provided in good humour and was not meant to be offensive. We at Techtree understand the seriousness of the matter and did not mean to hurt anybody's sentiments. Thank you for writing in.

If you guys at Techtree serious understood the seriousness of situation then usage of Satyam logo alone would have done. By distorting Satyam logo you guys are actually adding more damage to current situation. If you really meant no harm, then you should've removed the current photo after Radhika's comment.

You are blaming one person who distorted the image.. what about the tv channels calling Satyam - The True lies. Raju ban gaya fraud.. etc etc.. Picture say a lot more than words.. the person has not come and distorted the image in your website.. what if the person is a new bie in photoshop.. As a society we dont tolerate if we feel the news or cartoons are targetted on us.. but we like if the target is politicians

Distortion of logos i still maintain is illegal. It also shows extremely bad taste. And, unlike what you say, it was not funny at all! Please remove the distorted logo, it hurts my sentiments as a proud Satyamite to see the distorted logo of a company that's so dear to me.

To those affected or upset about this company and its leadership's actions please take some solace in the fact your government has acted with great speed and accountability to get to the bottom of this. They arrested those in charge in less than a week. I only wish my goverment had been as diligent in the Enron scandel. Ken Lay may still have been alive to serve his prison time. Heck, Jeff Skilling just got his prison sentence reduced. We over here have a long way to go in changing corporate governance. Looks like Price Waterhouse could go the way of Arthur Anderson, Enron accounting firm that failed in the Enron scandal. One can hope anyway. My husbands company does a good deal of business with Satyum and we are anxious to see what happens next week when everyone returns from the long holiday. Take pride in your work and your government.

I am worried that there are more companies like satyam.. And we as indians will lose our invested money as well as some people will lose jobs.. Sensex at 21000 was a total fake by companies declaring they are growing at 100%.. Hope SEBI doesnt find more such companies...... One good thing is that it has brought me the awareness of verifying the credentials of a company chairman before investing in the company.. Many small andhra companies have helped candidates fake their experience and are blacklisted.. But now Raju has done a big damage to andhra.

What has he done for 25 years ??? Please tell us.. He has given jobs to you guys may be.. but he has cheated investors like me who believed in the brand... Lot of people have lost money.. He didnt put his own money, he ran it with our money.. Earned more because of your hard work and siphoned it off.. It is un-ethical to fudge the accounts, it is like not paying proper tax.. faking medical bills for FBT etc etc !!! Any small cheating is a cheating.. what if there is only one drop of poison in a can of milk

Dear all, you guys even dont know what has actually gone through this company and especially with its founder these days. has he eaten money to go jail, will he enjoy there, for that purpose he has done all that?? no !!! he wanted to save the company. just because during this excersise something wrong happened, raju failed. i am still proud to be a SATYAMITE!!

by Ankit, hyderabad, on Jan 10, 2009 01:41 AM, Report abuse   Reply

Wow !!! you still believe Raju.. this is the problem with indians.. you can be proud of being satyamite as you guys work hard and are ethical.. But it is time now to weed out the culprits from satyam.. i have heard that some HR people in satyam demanded 1 lac to recruit them.. These kind of unethical practices will be the ones to spoil the brand name and other employees.. Hope you guys act together

I am not surprised as PWC is involved. They were the auditors for Ramesh Gelli's GTB and Investors lost heavily. they were the consultants or Lord Krishna Bank. They suggested hike in salaries and one of the consultants joined LKB later. They are the biggest fraudsters. They must be dbarred first
