When will iPhone prices drop? Probably never; but if precedent means anything , it just may. So, when do you think the nosedive (if that) would happen? And we're not talking about a meaningless Rs. 2,000 discount. We mean a sensible re-pricing that will make fans' faces gleam again. Some of you have participated in the poll which asks the same question, with current statistics suggesting that 37% voters feel that the iPhone 3G prices would drop in a month's time, while 35% voters believe that it will take at least 6 months for the iPhone 3G's price tag nozzle to head southward, and only 19% voters think that it'll take longer than 6 months for the price-drop. An aside: One of our readers did mention that users eventually paid a price of Rs. 34,580. So, how long are you willing to wait for iPhone prices to drop? If you're one of the over-enthusiastic few who stood in a queue at midnight to buy an overpriced phone, would you be mad enough to sue Apple? Use the comments section below to let us know.

Even if iPhone is priced less than 8k I would definitely look for other devices like SE or HTC which has got a better interface and options for data transfering. iPhone is one such crap phone, rather I could say its a sleek designed walky talky :))

Sooner or later they have to. Otherwise Airtel and Vodafone will just be sitting on huge stockpiles of iPhones which they would have procured thinking that they can cash in on the hype and the pre-bookings will translate to actual numbers (even though a small percentage). It would be great if TT can find out how many actual iPhones these 2 have sold till date.

Apple's target is to release iPhone in 70 countries before the end of thie year. Till now it has released in 37 countries (i guess). So if iPhone price in India is reduced at this time, then it may lead to reverse trafficking (iPhones smuggled frm India to abroad), so i expect a price drop by Jan (wich is the 6th month from this month - August)

Mathematically speaking, better ask when will AT@T price drop than the unit.
