A man from 'aamchee Mumbai' one Harjeet Arora, owner of "Gadget Boy" claims to be able to repair all kinds of Apple iPods.
iPod owners take heart! A man from 'aamchee Mumbai' claims to be able to repair all Apple iPods...
And, what's more, the man, one Harjeet Arora, owner of "Gadget Boy", claims to be the only person in the country to be able to do so...
But, what led Arora into a job like repairing iPods? Arora, who sells iPods and MP3 players at his store, says he was getting so many customers coming back to him with complaints about their iPods not working, who were then going ahead and buying new iPods that he felt the need to venture into this territory.
And, that's not all Arora reveals, he endeavored, and got to learn the 'true' technique of assembling and repairing iPods from a Canada-based manufacturer of replacement batteries.
In Arora's words, "Carrying out repairs of iPods is a very difficult task. iPods, by virtue, contain numerous hair-thin wires, circuit boards, and strips, and any mistake during opening them could cause irreparable damage."
So committed is Arora to the task at hand that he has actually created a small dust-free studio within his apartment, where he sits and repairs the worn-out iPods.
Amazingly, Arora has been repairing iPods for the past two months almost. He says that in the beginning, no one was ready to even believe that an iPod could be repaired, but that now it's a different scene altogether, what with him repairing nearly 5 to 10 iPods everyday.
Further, Arora's keen sense of enterprise has led him to start an alternative practice; that of exchanging non functional iPods for new ones, after deducting the amount from the price of the new iPod, or returning an amount of Rs 1,500 to the customer.
No wonder, Arora is in top form. He says, not only does he repair iPods but that he has started repairs of gizmos such as Palmphone's Treo 650 and the PlayStation Portable (PSP), with the very near possibility of taking on repairs of Microsoft's Xbox 360.
And, while the man is full of praise for Apple Computer and the impeccable quality of its iPods, he does not hesitate to disclose an interesting detail. He says that recently, some people from Apple came visiting his shop, trying to dissuade him from advertising his services. He adds with a distinct air of secrecy that he later got an anonymous call asking him to explain how he goes about repairing iPods...

This Hrjeet Arora is a 100% Fraud, He had Taken my 40GB Ipod and Had Taken 3200Rs for servicing but till now havent returned my Ipod. I have spend more than 500Rs for calling him and SMS'ing him. After getting the money he never picks up my call. He is a FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!! 100% FRAUD!!!

Hi All, I am an actor (will not revel name now), I bought many Gadgets from 'The Gadget Boy' Inorbit mall, Malad. First of all he is toooo reasonable in price and second thing he offers good services. I had (by mistake) bought one PS-2 from store next to him. It got spoiled in 30 days and that 'Jumbo' guy there refused to recognize me (though I am popular figure on TV), he said he can't remember that he sold the PS2 to me. Since I regularly buy from 'Gadget Boy' so I approached Harjeet Arora, he repaired this for me immediately and charged too little. Hey folks this guys Harjeet Arora - The Gadget Boy of Mumbai City RoKKKKKKs... He is too good. I am Preeti Singh from Mumbai and had dropped my iPhone in my water tub. Like a fool I tried switching it on and it DIED... now I had no resort but to use it as paper weight... Other day while surfing the net I found this artcile on TT. Therafter I called him and he said to bring iPhone to him. Ohh God he is like a wizard, he opened it right before me showed me where all water had settled. He changes the whole LCD panel and cleaned the mother-board and connectors.... gosh I cudn't believe my eyes... after 1/2 an hour my iPhone started working... This Gadget Boy is not just in fixing Gadgets, he is too Cute and Hot but very moody... Thanks TT and Gadget Boy... If I get chance I would love to date him some day... Luv u Gadget Boy....

Dear Harjeet, I recntly brought external USB charger for my daughter IPOD, 1st time when she connected for charging it did not charge but seems have disturbed something in IPOD and she lost all the music from IPOD only few songs in ON GO list remains, she connected the IPOD to Itune and go message to 'RESTORE', she did same and downloaded software and after downloading itune asked her to attach IPOD to external charging source, and IPOD is diplaying externalcharging symbol, however after keeping it for almost 8-10 hrs. for external charging IPOD is not starting. Can u help me with this problem.

Hi Gadget Boy, I am Karan from Bhopal, MP. I am working part-time and studying in collage. My sister gave me an iPod (20 GB Click wheel) and with very deep heart I will tell you that it was her last gift to me, as she expired in an accident. This iPod is her last gift to me and recently it stopped working. I dont want to loose this iPod and also cannot affored to pay very repairing cost. Hats off to Gadget Boy, TT and to all those who wrote about Gadget Boy, I got right directin and approached him to get my iPod reapired. Infact he was little unwell but still helped as I was get back to Florida, US. I have no hestation in saying that if I had approached someone here in USA for same job it was not possible to get done for less then 100 USD. I get it done only on 2000 INR. Thanks TT and those people who wrote about Mr. Harjeet Arora. I was not sure what to do with my non-working iPods. I bought click wheel 4 years back, then I bought 30 GB Video after it died completely. Then my 30GB Video stop working and finally I started looking for someone who could help me repairing these iPods as I didnt want to spend more money. After I read you all people on TT, I got convinced and contacted Gadget Boy - Harjeet Arora, he repaired both of them, which were originally denied by APPPLE. it was really great for me as now I have 2 iPods and one I have fixed permanately in car and enjoy music in car, home and on the move. I appreciate Harjeet Arora and his work. He repaired by iPod at a very resonable cost and quickly. Infact I was in major problem when it got damaged within 15 days of my purchase and when I took it to APPLE they refused to repair as it had physical damage. Then I searched all around at Laminghton rd., Musafirkhana etc. I found no one who could repair. One fine day as I was surfing net, I went on Google and searched for iPod repairer in India, to my suprise I found Gadget Boy, Harjeet Arora. Then I called him and met him in Andheri. He repaired and replaced its LCD which broke while it fell down. I must say in his praise that he did my work and saved my money as I thought that I have lost my iPod forever.

Its been 1 year and I have been listening from all about 'Gadget Boy' Mr. Harjeet Arora. I also thought that people are just talking too high about him but found out myself when recently my Treo 650 Phone got spoilt. He is the only source I can say who know in & out about this gizmo. Hey this is John Noah from Manchester, UK. I had recently come to INDIA on an official tour. I had Apple iPhone which while connecting Auxillary died. I searched for Apple service centre and they refused to take up the job. I read about this 'Gadget Boy'. I went to meet him and he found out that its Motherbaord is dead. He had 1 more iPhone from Chennai with same fault. Though Gadget boy could not repair but he helped me in knowing the real problem. On returning to UK I went to Apple but they did nothing to help me. Kudos to Harjeet...This one is long due...He did a wonderful job for me, I had a dead 30Gb Video Ipod,with the unhappy ipod icon on it...and he got it repaired real soon, i think about 2 days flat...the only problem we faced was getting it transported from mumbai to pune :) Thanks so much, Harjeet....He has done a gr8 job on it...Sad, we were unable to meet up...

Hey man this seems to be great discovery, I read about this Gadget Boy on Tech Tree while I was in LA and me belongs to Bombay, India. WHen I came from LA and was wanting to get my iPod repaired, I got surpised that this man Harjeet Arora is from Lokhandwala, Andheri (W), Mumbai and me too live there. When I went to see him he turned out to be my childhood friend and I studied with him. I am not boasting but he is born intelligent and has great memory. If he see something being made or opened or repaired, he memorizes quikly and reverses the whole process and goes back or unwind his memory. Since childhood he was like this. He unwinds his most of the things and goes to the bottom or centre of everthing. He did same with iPod or other electronics and became master of learning. Hats off Harjeet S Arora - WE LOVE YOU.

This is way one should be... I met Gadget Boy last Friday in Mumbai to get my 2 iPods repaired. Let me tell you what ever I had heard about him was true to the core. He is too good technician and too moody also and good looking too. He was constantly on mobile talking to various clients while repairing but still did my work very passionaltely. He is a very creative man and that I could see from his nature and he would suggest most the iPod users to first trying solving the problems at their end and incase iPod does not work them send it to him. It may be surpricing but 30 to 40% problems he solved on telephone and helped iPod users. He is helpful but does not takek any shit from anyone. He is the best one I have seen so far...

Impressionnant! Grand!! Tres bien!!! I am an electronics engineer myself from Paris, France and working in Mumbai and have many gadgets like iPod, PSP, X-Box etc. while travelling my iPod felll down and died down. I tried my engineering hands and screwed it up totally... after a lot abour Gadget Boy I approached him and he did mis magic and it started working like earlier.... hats of to you Mr. Harjeet Arora-The Gadget Boy of India... you are too good.

I tell you guys that Gadget Boy is one of the finest technician I have come across he repairs almost all Gadgets be it iPods, PSP's, Treo's Smartphones, Laptops, X-Box, PS-2. He does it passionaltely and loves to do it his job. Sometimes I feel such creative people are not fit to be in this country. He should be with Apple or MicroSoft...

Hey folks, I must say Gadget Boy is too good. He helped in getting my 80 GB ipod repaired. My iPod had fallen down while riding motorcycle and I thought it would not work at all. It was of use for me, recently I read about him on TT and approached him. He saw my iPod and repaired within a day's time. I had its LCD screen damaged and was dead... got both things replaced and now it working superb. Thanks Mr. Harjeet S Arora (THE GADGET BOY)...

Hello Friends, I was totally confused after reading a few guys online and then finally called up Gadget Boy to get my iPod 30 GB & old iPod mini. Sincerely this did it very nicely and neatly. He is very straight forward and cool (oops Hot)... As I am from Technical brackground myself. all i know is repairing is very difficult and creative job. If his mood is bad he doesnt take up work, but once he has it in hands finishes immediately... Love to know such people who do things for no greed... Thanks TT and Gadget Boy

would not like to let down others but it is a truth that this 'Gadget Boy' is tooo good a repairer of 'gadgets'. Only thing I noticed is he doesnt take the repairs easily in hand because he is super busy, but what so ever is takes in hand does it very well. I appreciate his approach as it refines those wasting time. He makes these things with heart and thats the reason does not involve in much of fuss. Great Mr. Gadget Boy, you are good.

I must say if true WIZKID is there in India so far GADGETS REPAIRINGS is concerned it is only GADGET BOY. He knows his business tooooo well and never reacts to the bad name, which is a nasty work of his rivals, and belives in doing. Gadget Boy repairs almost all gadgets and freaks out his work.
