WCG 2007 India Winners

The Finals saw the preliminary round winners from metros competing to represent India at the WCG World Finals at Seattle, between October 3 to 7, 2007.

The World Cyber Games 2007 (WCG 2007) India finals took place at World Trade Centre in Mumbai, today. The Finals saw the preliminary round winners from top metro cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai competing to represent India at the WCG World Finals being held at Seattle, Washington USA between October 3 to October 7, 2007. The winners have been selected from the following team as well as individual games including Counter Strike 1.6 (a clan of 5 members), Warcraft III Frozen Throne, FIFA Soccer 2007, Need for Speed - Carbon, Age of Empires III and Project Gotham Racing. The Counter Strike crown was once again claimed by the well-known team "ATE"; while the other winner who booked their seats on the fight to Seattle are - Sagar Vaishnav for Warcraft III, Reuben Pereira for FIFA, Arun Ravi Singh for NFS Carbon, Chotu Vohra for Age of Empire, and Yash Mayekar for Project Gotham Racing. The 10 Winners - 5 individual players and 5 members from the Counter Strike team will represent India at the WCG World Finals. The finals were followed by a friendly Counter Strike 3-match series between the India Finalists and the Pakistani Counter Strike team Havok. The 5 member Pakistani team also represented Pakistan at the ESWC Sports 2007 held in Paris earlier this year. The Indian team emerged clear winner with a 3-0 clean sweep. The score card read as follows: 16-2 (Nuke), 16-6 (Inferno) and 16-7 (Dust2).

Hi Chotu, PRAKASH here, r u the winner of age of empires 3 in WCG, if yes, congrats, I ?am also a die-hard gamer for age of empires 1, 2, & 3. I missed WCG that held in Bangalore recently.

Inidan gamers really need to improve at international tournaments. The "ATE" clan was badly thrashed at the recently held ESWC. They even lot to Pakistan at ESWC.
