The LCD TV maker, Vizio, claims to have made its first ever 26-inch widescreen VMM monitor for dedicated PC users. Recently Vizio had rolled out 32-inch and 42-inch Plasma TVs for remarkably affordable prices.
Amongst the biggies like Sony and Samsung, Vizio had managed to reach the top in the list of LCD TV makers at the end of second quarter last year.
John Schindler, Vizio's vice president for product development, revealed that the company is planning to ship it's first monitor tailored for dedicated PC users. The widescreen VMM monitor is expected to be priced at $449 and will come with HDMI inputs, reduced brightness and greater resolution. Not much detail was revealed but this will certainly keep PC users on their toes.
Vizio also boasted of a fresh "Eco Friendly" TV line up that would be added under its product umbrella. These "Eco Friendly" TVs are expected to operate with 35 to 45 per cent lesser power consumption than traditional LCD TVs using a new screen film technology. By reducing CCF lamps from six to four Vizio aims to achieve lesser power consumption maintaining the same brightness level.
Other products being rolled out by Vizio include:
- Extreme Vizio Technology (XVT) Series: 42-inch and 47-inch 1080p LCD TVs with suggested retail price of $1,499 and $ 1,899 respectively are due for shipping this month.
- XVT Series also features 50-inch 1080p HD Plasma set with contrast ratio of 30,000:1 rating; life expectancy from 60,000 hours to 100,000 hours; game access port, HDMI inputs, Silicon Optix's Reon Hollywood Quality video processing technology and will have $1,699.99 as suggested retail price.
