Transcend has introduced its advanced portable hi-speed USB 2.0 multi-card reader, RDM2, a small device designed for faster and easier data transfer and exchange.

RDM2 features high-speed transfer rate and user-friendly operation, and can read movies, photos, and e-data from popular memory cards, including SD, miniSD, CF Type I/II, Microdrive, MMC, MS, and new generation SD (SDHC and miniSDHC) cards.

Besides, Memory Stick Duo/Pro Duo and microSD cards are directly accepted by RDM2, sans the need for adapters. RDM2 can be easily plugged-into the USB port of any desktop or notebook computer without installation hassles.

RDM2 specifications are: USB 2.0 compliant and supports USB 1.0; up to 480Mb/s data transfer; support for CF, Microdrive, SD, miniSD, micro SD, SDHC (SD2.0), miniSDHC (SD2.0), MMC, MMCplus, MMCmobile, MMC Micro, Memory Stick/Pro/Duo/ Pro Duo/Micro and xD memory cards; battery/external power not required; adapter not required for microSD cards; LED power on, card insertion, and data traffic; and compatible with Windows 98/98SE/2000/ME/XP/Vista, Mac OS 9 and Linux Kernel 2.4 and later versions.

The portable multi-card reader is available in three colors: TS-RDM2B in Blue; TS-RDM2R in Orange; and TS-RDM2S in Silver. It comes with a two-year warranty, and is expected to be available next week onwards for a MRP of Rs 1,000 apiece.
