Nokia India has unveiled the first enterprise phone in the country, the Nokia E90 Communicator, which offers email access, Web browsing, and a Maps application, among others.
The phone includes features such as an FM radio, a music player, a video player, 'active notes' for taking notes and tagging them to individual names, 'Quickoffice' for viewing, opening, and editing email attachments, Zip Manager, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The Communicator also has an integrated GPS and Nokia Maps application to help users find routes and locate services.
E90 offers fast connections over WLAN and HSDPA with enhanced 3G for mobile use of data and transmission of rich applications.
With the Nokia S60 browser with 16-million colors, the phone is capable of displaying the full width of a Web page at once.
Speaking at the launch, Chakrapani GK, country general manager of Nokia Enterprise Solutions, said, "The launch of Nokia E90 Communicator is the tipping point for business mobility in India. With the launch of Nokia E90, we are bringing an altogether new and expanded view of business mobility to the market place, as well as a culmination of power, performance, and productivity."
The Nokia E90 Communicator is available across the country for Rs 40,499 (inclusive of taxes).

Rajaa-i fully endorse your views-this the best one i have used so far.could u kindly tell me what s60v3 9.1 applications,games,themes works on it-i am getting 'expired certificates'in all the cases,which ever i try to install.i had nokia n73,so i had all the softwares,but the prob.is as above!pl.help. regards pmoulik

Hello, what you said about internet browsing in not correct. Though I agree with you all other points and admire your well done informative short review. E62 was having the same feature browsing the internet in FULL PAGE. The only thing is that it is having smaller screen width (not the height) than E90. I have been using my E62 and is browsing internet in full page. (But you should use the html browser not the WAP browser). So, you have to modify your comment as "This is the second Phone ever in the world to surf the internet in full page! (using orkut, facebook, Gmail, yahoo, MSN etc is veryyyyyyyy easy!)" But I agree that E90 is having terrific screen resolution and width and height. Normally, PDF can't read smoothly any phone other than the communicator series, due to the resolution and scaling issue. In PDF if we wan't to make the text bigger the page itself will become bigger and will not fit in the screen - we need to pan left and this makes it practically difficult to read serious things, like ebooks etc. (Be we can use other text readers like Qreader or mobi reader for making the text only to appear bigger - means, the text will be scrolled down and the page width will remain the same.) expiry certificate comes while installing application u just have to go to the Clock and change the year and then it will work after that change your present year againg .....enjoy

an all in one CELL is OK and can fancy you. Take a cell to use it for Talk, you will be the happiest person. The more and more you want from it, you get less and less attached to it, for there are other alternatives for the rest of the options.

you are true sometimes but this is not an excuse of running out of it, if you don't use them fully then only you are a loser. when used extensively these all in one devices are wonderful and give gr8 results. it should be in you how much you can get out of them. if they were of no use these MNC's would never developed them. life was nice and moving without mobile phone and other gadjets but with these it is much better and comfortable.

I want to buy a good phone. I have 2 in mind Sony P1i or the Nokia E90. Can someone help me out making a good decision? I am in business and am wanting to buy a good phone. Price is slightly an issue but based on ur review I might go with either of the two. Your reply will be really appreciated! Thanks!

Nokia E-90 should be better, as it supports Class A, MSC 11, whereas Sony Ericsson P1i, supports Class B, MSC 10, therefore the former is faster in downloading and the benefits of a large screen. I've the P990i and was interested in P1i, but as the GPRS/Internet speeds are an Issue, i would also like to go in for E-90, as soon as the prices comes down. Also E-90 is EGPRS & 3G, whereas P1i is only 3G, and we don't know when they are going to launch the 3G services in India, therefore E-GPRS with 3G would make much better sense as far as speeds are concerned.

Communicator is not practical. I have tried Nokia communicator, Pocket PC, and two models of blackberry. Now settled with Blackberry. Full key board is ment for typing long business mails. But believe me, Communicator is not easy to operate in spite of large key board. You can not hold it properly. Nokia's build quality of communicator is not bad. I have tried TWO communicators and dumped it.

Hi Babu, What would u suggest? I am contemplating between buying Nokia E90 or the Sony P1i (next month). Price is a slight issue but if E90 is very superior I wont mind buying it... My main criteria is Wi-Fi, Qwerty, and PDA features (Word etc). If you could kindly give ur suggestions.. Thanks

Hi There, I am from chennai and am interested in the E90. I have the below queries that i would be happy if someone can help me with ... 1) The best price i can find in chennai is 40K...anybody know of a better price ? 2) i hear the battery backup is awful ... does anybody here have an E90 to let me know if this is true ? i dont believe the foreign reviews coz the signal strength in India is not as good as the ones abroad. 3) Is there any other drawback in this phone on the software or hardware front that anybody would like to share with me ? 4) Can the VoiP feature be used in India with Skype ? 5) I believe that the 3G only works on the 2100Mhz band that is only available in the US and a few other countries ... is this true ? if it is any idea what is the band width that 3G will be available on in India ? It sucks to pay 40k for this. I recently bought SE P990i for 15k in mumbai. It just rocks. Has all the features mentioned here. Only fools would spend 25k more on this BRICK

Once you get used to the Communicator, you wont like any other phone. Great for emails, sms, and business browsing. Till you havnt used it, you will feel it is too big. Personal experience.

I have been using E-70 from last one year and its wonderful. I am satisfied with it. Communicators are rather Compass Boxes heavy duty to carry, But E-70 have their all features but still small and light weight (except FM radio and GPS) and its Camera of 2 MP is also OK. Wonder why Nokia not improving E-70 further as its Keyboard also easy to operate holding in two hands.

I have been a big fan of Nokia Communicator for over 4 years now. Its probably the best phone ( except for the occasional software issues).

this is by far the BEST communicator/PDA I hvae tested/used so far. It got features you even can use! I have been using all the communicators of Nokia, Ericcson, Sony, O2, Blackberry all this while, but nothing can beat the E90.... The dealer price is Rs. 34848 which I bought at! You may bargain the price anywhere from Rs.35,000 to Rs. 38,500. Like any phone, the communicator has bugs and the fact that Nokia has released an updated firmware is itself evident that the technical team is pressed into care right b4 the launch... expect the best out of this magnificient handset. The set is compatible with stereo bluetooth headsets, GPS maps yet to be launched for India. Most of the software of Symbian S60 version 3 are compatible with the phone... The facility to read out the messages and email is the best so far! The email integration is great! This is the first fone ever in the world to surf the internet in full page! (using orkut, facebook, Gmail, yahoo, MSN etc is veryyyyyyyy easy!) TIPS: holding the menu button longer works like a task manager! mail me for tips and quieries..... I may help you in my own time!
