Lenovo claims the IdeaPad U110 does not compromise looks for technology or technology for looks.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 consumer notebook PC is now available in the country, the company announced today.

Lenovo claims the IdeaPad U110 does not compromise looks for technology or technology for looks. The company likens the ultra-portable notebook to a work of art. It has a tendril pattern etched into its aluminium lid and patterned vents on its base that remind you of an illuminated manuscript or a fine textile, the company claims. Completing the pretty picture is a unique piano finish on the keyboard.

More on looks: the IdeaPad U110's 11-inches frame-less LED screen catches your attention first besides its petite frame; the notebook weighs approximately 1.05kg and is about 18.4mm thick. It is available in black or red colors.

Features-wise, the notebook includes a 120GB hard drive, up to 3GB memory, Intel Centrino processing technology, a built-in camera, WLAN, Ethernet, and Bluetooth connectivity (for select models only), an external DVD burner, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating system (OS). The notebook comes with an additional battery for up to eight hours of battery life. Lenovo's Active Protection System provides durability by temporarily parking the hard drive in case the notebook should fall. With VeriFace face recognition technology, users can log in easily without having to remember passwords. Add Dolby Home Theater and Multimedia Control Center, and the U110 promises superior sound quality.

IdeaPad U110 is part of a new brand launched by Lenovo in March this year. Lenovo's IdeaPad notebooks and IdeaCentre desktops complement the company's ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCentre desktops respectively. The IdeaPad U110 is now available at all Lenovo storefronts for prices starting at Rs 98,000.
