AverMedia has released a TV box, which enables the user to instantly transform a LCD Monitor into a TV/DVD/VHS entertainment center.
Using "AverTV Box-W7" users can watch two analog TV systems, PAL and NTSC, on any LCD, CRT, Plasma, and Projection Display, which is connected via a VGA input, thus eliminating the need for software or driver installation.
Box-W7 provides a slot for external devices such as TV, DVD, camcorder, game console, or VHS player via S-Video or composite, allowing users to enjoy the full-range of entertainment with CRT or LCD/PDP monitors.
With a Philips' quality TV tuner, Box-W7 offers vivid video quality with a resolution of up to 1440 x 900 and 1280 x 1024. The device supports both the 16:9 and the 16:10 wide-screen mode. In addition, it incorporates Progressive Scan technology to support sharper and clearer video.
Box-W7 also utilizes advanced 3D-motion Adaptive De-interlace technology, which eliminates the jagged edges of TV and DVD movies to improve overall image clarity and sharpness.
Some other interesting features of the gadget include: multi-lingual on-screen display (OSD) with alpha-blending, Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode, and Sleep Timer.
AverTV Box-W7 is available through Aditya Infotech and its branches, at a street price of less than Rs 5,000.
Old Technology; I've been using one since a year now.
