Offers free unlimited promotional data usage

In a bid to offer instant web connectivity while on the move, Virgin Mobile has entered the data devices segment with the launch of vLink. Priced at Rs. 2100, vLink is the first data device that acts as both a CDMA USB modem as well as a 1 GB data storage device. Additionally, the device comes with all the drivers, so no CD installation is required. It offers users surf speeds of up to 153 kbps.

vLink comes with a starter kit of Rs. 99, which includes free unlimited promotional data usage time for 30 days.

The vLink is available in two tariff plans:

1.    The Rs. 801 monthly plan that provides users unlimited data usage per month and
2.    The Rs. 349 monthly plan whose usage rates are 25p/min from 8 am-10 pm and 13p/min from 10 pm-8 am, which gets deducted from the Rs. 349 users pay per month. This plan also offers users the benefit of rolling over unutilized balance to the next month making it the first unutilized balance roll over facility for data usage in the Indian market.

" ....vLink is the first data device that acts as both a CDMA USB modem as well as a 1 GB data storage device...... - Techtree News Staff, Jul 03, 2009 1513 hrs IST" please do ur homework .... i keep checking on this site to search whats the latest AND yet the above comment is not befitting becoz Tata Indicom here in Assam launched a similar kind of device - CDMA USB modem with 1 GB data storage; long ago. also the virgin device looks like the indicom one which is in black/ blackish blue. maybe same Chinese / Taiwanese manufacturer .... AM using TATA PHOTON+, here in this eastern tip of India, and am getting good speeds - downloads range between 40 - 80kbps and at times 100 kbps +

EVDO by BSNL does no have conformity in speed. The download speed is maximum to 16-17 kb/second and moving down to 2kb. Broadband by BSNL too is horrible . In Himachal Pardesh Una. The problem with BSNL is they dont have exprienced Engineers. They are meant for clerical jobs and sit on SDO!s position. Deptt. brings out schemes but all fail due to right people. All ISP!s are cheating consumers. Let there be some policy to safegaurd consumer interests. Thanks

I am using BSNL evdo. They claim it 2.4mbps and i get around 1mbps, i think it is a best buy because it is deadly cheap compared to others only 650 Rs per month for unlimited data usage.

BSNL dongle, initially sold for Rs. 7,000/- & now available for Rs. 3300/- with unlimited usage for a monthly rental of Rs. 230/- is the worst instrument ever offered by any ISP. You should not even dream of buying this instrument

Having used this technology previously on Tata's plug2surf, I can safely assure all readers that this will be one of the most frustrating internet instruments ever. The rollover tariff plan sounds good, but when you actually use this worthless dongle you will realise that it's not worth the 2100 bucks you were conned out of it for.

I agree. I too have had a terrible experience with Reliance Netconnect. You will be lucky if you are able to get more than 3-4 kbps.

hmmm i have done test for tataindicom its just does not cross above 800 kpbs & if you use reliance it does not cross above 1.5 mbps & reliance cannot give you 1.5 mpbs in all the cities it will connect cdma 1x then ur speed will be 256kps or max 512kpbs.so all 3.1 mbps are just marketing talks so don't just get fooled yourself
