Not to be left behind, LG Electronics has unveiled a slew of phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
With all the major phone manufacturers showing off their latest wares, you wouldn't expect LG Electronics to be left behind. The company has unveiled a slew of phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
To begin with, the LG KF700 boasts of three separate input methods, offering easy access to its powerful multimedia features, including a full Web browser, digital audio and video players, and widgets.
The KF700 has a sliding alphanumeric keypad, and a 3-inch full touchscreen LCD as an optimized interface for all its features. On the back of the phone is a Shortcut Dial that helps with easy switching between frequently-used applications.
The second LG newbie, the KF600, is as stylish as it is functional; it has a high-gloss finish and an easy-to-grip trapezoidal shape. LG claims the phone is so intuitive it reads your mind -- almost.
Significantly, the KF600's InteractPad replaces physical buttons with virtual navigation keys that "feed-forward" menus tailored to fit the task at hand. In doing so, the intuitive pad does away with the need for the user to memorize which key does what when using the phone's 3MP camera, MP3 player, video recorder, or even while making phone calls or sending text messages.
A third handset launched at Barcelona, the KF510, is a slim slider that has gradated metallic Stardust Dark Grey and Sunset Red color schemes as the basis for its design. This is accentuated by a dynamic touchpad with interactive touch lighting and emotional animation.
Other features of the KF510 include a smart camera that promises a start-up time of approximately one second; an MP3 player; the ability to record and playback QVGA video; image stabilization; LED flash; and red-eye reduction.
LG's fourth new handset, the KS20, is a slim smartphone designed to enrich the mobile Internet experience. LG claims the phone's minimalist design will appeal to those who admire a phone as much for its design as for its features. The KS20 is powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 software, and features a large LCD screen, using an intuitive touch input technology. It also features full Internet browsing capabilities, the ability to download music to video clips to push email at speeds of 3.6 Mbps via HSDPA, plus advanced features like video-conferencing.
The last debutant from the LG stable at the Mobile World Congress is the KT610, a stylish GPS-enabled candy bar sporting a 2.4 VGA flip screen that holds a PC-like QWERTY keypad. Based on Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1, the KT610 boasts of HSDPA connectivity at 3.6 Mbps in addition to its GPS navigation capabilities. It has a host of multimedia features, push e-mail functionality, and more.
There's no news on the pricing and availability of these phones so far.
