PSP owners will now be able to communicate with other Skype users around the world for free, as well as make low cost telephone calls over the Internet.
It's now official! Sony will soon introduce Skype features on its new slim and light PSP (PlayStation Portable) handheld game console.
With the introduction of Skype, PSP owners will be able to communicate with other Skype users around the world for free, as well as make low cost telephone calls around the world over the Internet.
PlayStation Portable users worldwide will be able to start using Skype features and services through a simple system software update scheduled for release late January.
Upon updating the PSP system software, a Skype icon will be added to the network category in the home menu, which can be used for registering in case the user doesn't already have a Skype user name.
For PSP users who already have Skype user names, they need not waste any more time. They can immediately sign-up for the Skype service by clicking on the icon.
Meanwhile, to enjoy Skype features on PSP, users will need Memory Stick Duo, a wireless Internet connection, and a Skype compatible audio input device. In order to receive calls, they need to stay connected to the Internet, and sign-in through the Skype screen on the PSP.

I agree, now I have to think about buying the new PSP in order to get cool stuff like this. I think now, SONY will only release good add-ons like this for only the PSP Light and Slim
