Let's take a quick run through the highlights of the show:
Resistance 2: This game was breathtaking, an absolutely stunning showcase title. The scale presented was astounding -- a huge boss looming threateningly over skyscrapers. The in-game demonstration saw you, the player, run from one skyscraper to another, shooting missiles into the mouth of the boss. As Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac put it, "While many games talk about scale, Resistance 2 truly delivers." The game also offers 8-player online co-op and 60-player online multiplayer. Ted then showed us
a new trailer of the game. We can't wait for this title to hit the PS3!

DC Universe Online [PS3]: Jim Lee of Batman Rush fame joined Jack Tretton on stage and showcased an MMORPG built around the DC comics universe. Jim, a self-confessed Everquest-nut, was plainly excited to show a product that married two of his passions: comics and video games. A trailer made using in-game assets and engine was shown and Jim wanted us to imagine being able to play with superheros such as Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman to bring the bad-guys down, or flip-side to tie up with the Joker to break out inmates from the Arkham asylum, or to get together with Lex Luthor to bring Superman down, and so on. What was shown was clearly early days for the game, and Jim stressed as much. The animation left a lot to be desired and the game itself looked nothing special. But the superheroes that we all grew up with were all there and the concept seems promising, at least. The game will release on both the PC and the PlayStation 3 and we look forward to seeing more of it and to seeing it evolve.

inFamous [PS3]: Another super-hero/villian game for the PS3. This one reminded us of the excellent Crackdown on the Xbox 360. The setup is thus: There is a huge explosion that levels several blocks of your city, killing almost everyone but yourself; leaving you with strange powers. The game puts you in this post-disaster city, a sandbox gameplay evident, with the city in ruins and thrown into chaos. As you discover and come to grips with your power, you will be given a choice between being the city's saviour or its destroyer. Sounds interesting, and judging from previews, plays like a cross between
Crackdown and
Star Wars: Force Unleashed. There is a lot of jumping between rooftops throwing cars at people, and using telekinetic powers that resemble force-push and force-lightning. The game looked good, for what it offered - a sandbox game environment, with great animation and good effects. We hope to get our hands on this one real soon.

MAG [PS3]: From the developers of SOCOM, MAG is a massively-online multiplayer game. Think Warhawk, magnified. The game's developer spoke of scale while underlining this title: a 256-player online battle, something never attempted on a console before. The 256 players will be broken atomically into 8-member squads, each squad will be given missions and objectives to complete. The idea being that within the grander 256-people battle, you are playing a more immediate online game with 7 more of your buddies. Each squad will have a leader risen from the rank and file of the game: based on performance and leadership abililty. As you play the game, you will be rewarded with experience points and upgrades, similar to the
Call of Duty 4 multiplayer aspect. A CGI video of the game
was shown to tease the audience.
Fat Princess [PSN]: This was a pleasant surprise - a charming, gory, and cool title for the PlayStation Network. The game is a hack-and-slash game and is packed with cool features: You can choose Classes and customize your looks: Warrior, Archer, Mage, Worker, Priest. You can gather resources to upgrade things like your weapons and your fort. There will be 10 maps total, shared across single & multiplayer modes. The title supports 32 players online, it is also playable offline. The Goal is to rescue your (fat) princess from the opposing teams fort. Since the opponents have stuffed her, making her very fat, you'll need a lot of men to carry her back. In one word: Awesome.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty [PSN]: This PSN title literally takes off where the PS3 title ended. Your quest is the search for Clank, who mysteriously disappeared in the PS3 outing. The game brings the same retail engine to the PSN with additional gameplay elements which highlight Ratchet's wrench as a multi-functional tool, as well as the expected platforming elements that form these games. The game is essentially a "shorter game at a lower price"; the price: $14.99.

Resistance: Retribution [PSP]: A Resistance spin-off for the PSP with the cringe-worthy tagline -- "The Resistance is now in your hand". Really, now! But apart from the tag, the game looked great. It featured a third-person, over-the-shoulder camera and offered typical shooter action. Nothing wrong with the formula, and what was shown worked and played really well.

God of War 3 [PS3]: Enough said? Sony certainly seemed to think so. Only a brief and CG teaser was shown but it was enough to get us itching to have another session with Kratos.
Video Store [PSP, PC, PS3]: A video store was unveiled, available outside of India immediately. It offered the usual options to preview, buy, or rent movies and TV shows. The cool part was that it allowed cross-platform usage: you can pick a movie using the PC, which will automatically be downloaded to the PS3 and can be carried as a portable version on your PSP -- no extra cost. Finally, a service that gets online video content right! Consumers who rent a movie from the video delivery service have 14 days to watch the content. Once content playback is started, consumers have a full 24 hours to enjoy their rental. Pricing for rental movies at launch ranges from $2.99 to $5.99, and pricing for purchased movies ranges from $9.99 to $14.99.

A new SKU [PS3 PS2 PSP]: The PlayStation 3 gets a new SKU in the form of a $399 80GB PS3. The good news is the 80GB capacity, the bad news is that
this 80GB SKU will not offer backwards compatibility; a small fact dropped through the ultimate euphemism from Jack Tretton: "[new 80GB PS3] will have all the features of the 20GB PlayStation 3", good going Jack. A new PS2 bundle was also revealed:
Lego Batman along with the new
Justice League: The New Frontier animated movie on DVD. Similarly, a PSP bundle was also revealed: a silver PSP,
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, a 1GB memory stick, a voucher to purchase
Echochrome, and a UMD of
National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.

Truly a great show from Sony!
i love new tyye of games
