Sony PSP: No Ports Allowed

Stop porting your PlayStation console titles to our portable please. Kthxbye

The PSP is on a roll, not only has it sold more than 10 Million units but with games like Resistance Retribution coming up, it is sure to break new ground.

But strangely, third-party developers have been giving the PSP a miss, which is making Sony very unhappy. So they have come up with a new strategy -- they want developers to dedicate some time to build a game from scratch for the portable, instead of porting games directly from a console to the PSP.

To be honest games such as Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and God of War: Chains of Olympus are excellent examples of what developers can do if they build a game from ground up for the PSP, be it in terms of visuals, or gameplay. Sony has plans to guide the developers to create better games on the PSP, as they believe that 2009 is a very strong year for the PSP, in terms of quantity and quality of games. So are you excited about the PSP or any games currently in development on it.

P.S.: Do PSP versions of Devil May Cry and Gran Turismo sound exciting to you?
