Sony Ericsson has announced the launch of the latest Walkman phone from its stables, the low-end W205 slider phone, which is directed at the young, first-time Walkman phone owner.
The phone, although directed at the low-end segment, is a classy looker and will appeal to people who would like a secondary handset to complement their smartphones. On the features front, the W205 sports a 1.8-inch 128 x 160 pixel TFT display. The phone is a tad heavy for a low-end handset at 96 grams. The phone boasts of 5MB internal memory with memory card support for up to 2GB with Memory Stick M2 cards. The "international" version of the phone supports GSM/GPRS/900/1800, while the W205a supports GSM/GPRS/850/1900.
On the imaging front, you have a 1.3 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom, and yes, this one will record videos as well. Being a Walkman phone, you can safely expect this to be flush with music oriented features, and the phone doesn't disappoint on this front. Other notable features are FM radio with RDS support, TrackID, and a torch functionality.
The phone is expected to be out this quarter at a yet to be disclosed price.
