Sharp Intros Aquos X1, D65U & D55U Sets in US

Sharp's new offerings feature newly developed 10-bit Advanced Super View LCD panels with AQUOS net capabilities.
At the CEDIA Expo 2008, Sharp introduced two thin AQUOS XS1 series LCD HDTVs. Also AQUOS D65U and D85U widescreen LCD TVs were unveiled. The Sharp AQUOS LC-52XS1U-S and AQUOS LC-65XS1U-S feature newly developed 10-bit Advanced Super View LCD panels that feature AQUOS net capabilities, RGB LED backlight system, native 1080p resolution and dynamic 1000000:1 contrast ratio.
Touted to be the thinnest TVs, the 52-inch AQUOS LC-52XS1U-S and 65-inch LC-65XS1U-S are approximately one inch thick. Both have an integrated sound system powered with Sharp's 1-bit digital amplifier and also an AVC system set-top box with both models. Both models will compete with Sony's thinnest (9.9mm) KDL-ZX1 announced at IFA 2008. The price for both models has not been announced yet.
The Sharp AQUOS D85U and D65U series were also unveiled, and will be available in 42-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch screen sizes. Both 1080p HD resolution-friendly series feature the 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced technology for crisper and clear image quality. Sets from both D85U and D65U series consume less power, feature new Power Saving Mode and are Energy Star complaint.
The D85U series shows off 120Hz Frame Rate Conversion with the Fine Motion Enhanced technology and four-millisecond pixel response time. While the D65U comes with six-millisecond pixel response time, 176 degree viewing angles, and PC input as well. Along with array of usual connection ports, the D85U models will come with five HDMI inputs ports.
