With a mixture of over-the-top violence and irreverent humor, "Madworld" promises to deliver a unique gaming experience currently missing on the Wii gaming system.

SEGA has announced a worldwide partnership with PlatinumGames, the recently formed development studio and the name behind several popular games. Under the agreement, PlatinumGames will develop three new SEGA titles including Madworld, Infinite Line, and Bayonetta. And there's a fourth title as well, waiting to be announced.

"Madworld" will be the first game to be released under the partnership in the first half of 2009. It is a third-person action game exclusively for the Wii. The game has a unique black and white style, depicting an incredibly sharp backdrop that straddles 3D worlds. As players battle opponents, they must master the use of various weapons and items found within the environment. While all this is going on, there's entertaining sports commentary to add to the third-person game play. With a mixture of over-the-top violence and irreverent humor, "Madworld" promises to deliver a unique gaming experience currently missing on the Wii gaming system.

"Infinite Line" will release in 2009; it's a role-playing game designed exclusively for the Nintendo DS portable handheld system. The game is set in outer space and gives players the ability to build, outfit, control, and customize more than 150 spaceships. "Infinite Line" promises to stretch DS hardware to the limit, featuring over 200 characters plus the ability to control multiple spaceships simultaneously. SEGA claims "Infinite Line" is one of the most complex RPG (role-playing games) developed for the DS till date.

Meanwhile, "Bayonetta" is set for release on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 in 2009. A cinematic action game, "Bayonetta" features a witch of the same name, who has powers beyond human comprehension. The action in the game comes from numerous face-offs that Bayonetta has with angelic enemies, many of these reaching epic proportions. Fiendish Bayonetta flashes from one fight to another, her moves outlandish yet graceful. According to SEGA, "Bayonetta" is set to push the envelope in terms of the action genre.
