A service giving search power to the user
To stay on the top, a leader has to innovate, and this is what Google is doing. Google has announced SearchWiki, a service giving search power to the user. A Google account holder will be able to customize his search by re-ranking results, adding new ones, commenting on the results, and even deleting existing ones. It's a good way to make the search results personalized since they are completely associated with a user's Google Account.
The SearchWiki springs into action after the search results for the queried term is displayed. A small icon appears beside the result link that enables the user to push the result up or down while the link beside it allows him/her to delete or restore the result.
Despite these search actions being limited to a single account, Google allows the user to check the edited searches done by the community under the "See all notes for this SearchWiki" link.
