Samsung launches SCX-4200 MFP

Samsung India, has launched SCX-4200, which they clams to be the world's smallest Multi-Functional Printer, copier with print and color scan functions.
Samsung India, has launched "SCX-4200," which the company clams to be the world's smallest Multi-Functional Printer (MFP), digital copier with print and color scan functions.
According to Samsung, it delivers speed, with advanced Digital Edit Functions along with available external network option. The advanced Digital Edit Functions include auto-fit, clone and poster mode. The auto Fit copy allows a small image to fit the printed page while the clone copy allows multiple copies of an image on to one output page. In poster copy, one image can be enlarged up to 300 percent and printed in up to 9 percent exactly matching A4 prints. It also comes with a one touch toner save mode that reduces toner consumption by about 25 percent.
Samsung claims that the exclusive ID copy feature of SCX-4200 allows the user to copy two sided documents like Photo ID Card and Driving license with ease. Reportedly, the SCX-4200 has a fast printout speed of 18 pages per min (A4).
The 256-level gray scale color scanner creates business quality images with enhanced resolution. In addition, the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software in SCX-4200 scans books and faxes and then transforms them into editable rich text. Its optional network kit enables instant transferring of scanned images by email.
According to Vikram Singh Negi, senior manager - Printer Division, Samsung India, "The advanced digital copier facilities at an entry level multifunction device make the SCX-4200 a truly cost-effective solution for offices and small business. Aesthetically designed with a small footprint, the SCX-4200 multifunction printer brings a great personal flavor to a laser multifunction and is targeted at the home user also".
Commenting on the multifunction printer market, Sanjay Sharma, VP-IT Business, Samsung India, said, "We expect a transition from Standalone Laser printers to cost effective Multifunction devices. The Multifunction Printer market in 2006 is expected to grow by over 80 percent from 2005. The SCX-4200 is yet another Samsung offering which will fuel this transition. Samsung continues to lead the way in terms of laser multifunction printer products range with a constant introduction of revolutionary products at cost effective prices."
The SCX-4200 is priced at Rs 11,500. With the launch of SCX-4200, Samsung now has a range of 8 MFPs in the market priced between Rs 8,000 to Rs 80,000.

do u any scx printer which has the facilty to print more than one labels or stickers with no.s automatically or any software which is adjustable with this printer accor. to my requirement.

Actually what is the price of samsung scx-4200 . first i cheked tha amrican site superwarehouse.com there is rate of this item is $149 i think its indian Rs. approx. is 7000/- only but i confused what is the price in india . please send me information and price of this item . thank you

It seems to be a great MFP, I have been using its predecessor SCX-41000 for quite some time and I find it real value for money compared to the stuff other manufacturers are offering. I earlier had a HP1010 laser printer which had its inherent problem of paper jams, whereas after buying this samsung machine, paper jams are a long forgotten thing. Even cartridge refilling is so easy, just remaove 5 screws, cap comes of, clean the brushes and refill the toner, leaving the hassle of going to a specialist getting the toner refilled. Indeed a great job by Samsung. Thumbsup Samsung.
