A new touchscreen phone from Samsung

Barely did Samsung's Omnia (SGH i900) has join the League of Touchscreen Phones, that a Samsung sibling with an 8-megapixel camera is heard knock, knocking on the club's doors.

Samsung has secretly announced the Samsung i8510 INNOV8's successor -- the M8800, dubbed as Pixon, code-named Brensson. The Samsung M8800, is a touchscreen phone that will compete directly with the LG KC910 Renoir which also sports an 8-megapixel camera. The LG KC910 might carry expected price of $800, while Samsung M8800 will be priced at $979.

Is it just us or are phone prices getting a tad ridiculous?

The M8800 features 3.2-inch screen offering 240x400 resolution and TouchWiz, similar to Omnia. The 8-megapixel camera offers maximum image resolution of 3264x2448 with auto-focus, face-recognition, Wide Dynamic Range, Advance Shake Reduction, GPS geo-tagging support, and WSVGA and VGA video recording at 30fps. Based on the Qualcomm MSM6281 chip, the M8800 will offer 3G support for faster Internet, in addition to support for quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA networks. Surprisingly the M8800 will not feature Wi-Fi and a 3.5mm jack.

Specifications of Samsung Brensson or Pixon M8800 are:

- Quad-band GSM, tri-band HSDPA
- 107.9x54.6x14.9mm, 110 g
- 3.2-inch touch screen display (240 x 400 pixels)
- 8 megapixel camera, auto focus, face recognition, Wide Dynamic Range, Advanced Shake Reduction, GPS geotagging, WVGA (720x480 pixels) and VGA (640 x 480 pixels) video recording at 30 FPS
- GPS
- Accelerometer
- DivX playback
- FM radio with RDS
- microSD card slot
- Bluetooth
- Landscape virtual QWERTY keyboard
- Handwriting recognition
- ShoZu integration for one click image and video upload
- Office document viewer

Both the M8800 and the KC910 are expected at the end of October.

I have bought this phone ..Its theeeeeeeee best phone i guess even better than the i-phone..I suggest u all shud also buy it if u have Rs.23000 to shell out.

its 23k in blore inr.....im buying it......i feel its better than the iphone and cheaper and has higher value for money.........not to mention its features are awesome!!
