Sahara Associates with IIFA 2006

Sahara Computers & Electronics Limited has announced its association with the coveted "Tiara IIFA Awards" to be held in Dubai this month.

Sahara Computers & Electronics Limited (SCEL) has announced its association with the very coveted "Tiara India International Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2006," scheduled to be held in Dubai this month. The move is part of a broader marketing initiative, and according to SCEL, marks the company s rapid expansion drive in the country. With modest beginnings as a joint venture with Sahara India Pariwar, South Africa-based Sahara Computers achieved a pan-India presence within a short span of time. Presently, the company plans to double its manpower, increase its R&D expenditure, and open new manufacturing units in Noida, Uttranchal, and Pondicherry. Commenting on the alliance, George Van Der Merwe, chief operating officer, SCEL, said, "We are proud to be associated with the coveted Tiara IIFA Awards, Dubai, which is arguably one of the most important events in the Indian film industry. Like last year, we are sure it will be an event that will showcase the grandeur of Indian cinema to the world, and we wish it all the best." SCEL made in-roads into the Indian market with the launch of desktops, laptops, and servers, and eventually forayed into the lifestyle segment, cashing-in on its international expertise.
