Rediff.com Launches Trains FareSearch

Techtree News Staff, Jul 04, 2008 1330 hrs IST

Rediff's new service not only allows you to check train schedules and make reservations, but also helps you compare prices with the lowest air fare.

Rediff.com has launched a new utility search service dubbed Trains FareSearch that allows users to check schedules and availability of seats along with fares for trains across the country.

This new service also offers users a comparative view of the lowest airfare for the chosen rail route within the same search query. For instance, for a rail journey from Mumbai to Delhi, the search engine will include the lowest air fare ticket available for the particular date along with the results for available trains.

In addition to this, Rediff Trains FareSearch doesn't require users to go through the compulsory registration process or remember station codes. Instead, it offers a predictive text support for all stations across India. Once the user has confirmed the destination and date of travel, the search shows all the possible options and details of the journey in just one click. The service also allows users to check the PNR status of the tickets.

After choosing the appropriate train, the service presents users with the option to either book the tickets through IRCTC site or through travel agents whose details are also available on the system.
