Rediff iLand adds 8 Indian languages to its blogging and social networking platform, which are Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Gujarati
Now, the Indian users of Rediff iLand can express their views and opinions as well as connect with people in the language of their choice.
Rediff.com has added 8 new languages to its blogging and social networking platform, Rediff iLand. So, users will now be able to connect using 8 Indian languages such as, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Gujarati.
Users can use the normal keyboard to type in English alphabets, while using the QWERTY keyboard to input words in other languages on the basis of phonetics to create language blogs on Rediff iLand.
According to Manish Agarwal, VP (Marketing) of Rediff.com, "Indians reading blogs frequently are increasing at a fast pace and removal of language barrier will further hasten the growth of blogging in the country."
Presently, the Indian blogging community is dominated by English blogs. However, with the growing awareness and increasing adoption of Internet in B and C cities, more and more Indians are expected to adopt blogging and explore newer opportunities by participating in this growing medium.
Rediff.com expects this initiative to open up and bring in a new set of Internet users, who actively participate in forming a vibrant and active community online.
