Future Blackberrys might sport "wing" like extensions to squeeze in a QWERTY keyboard on phones that might be too narrow to fit in a full size keyboard.

Okay, so there seems to a bunch of people at Research in Motion (RIM) who think, its time they made Blackberrys a tad pocket friendly. Instead of the wide bodied monsters we have today, we might as well end up with an elongated brick with flap like extensions to either sides - to accommodate the QWERTY layout that RIM seem to love so much. Have a look at the image below.

While we're still trying to figure out the rationale behind the design, RIM thinks this is one hell of an idea and decides to patentit. We're unsure if there would be any takers for a design like this especially when you consider the difficulties involved in typing on to a keyboard that has its two ends dangling from the sides. If that was not all, RIM did not manage to find enough space and ends up giving us two alphabets for each key.

Would we want to try out this new Blackberry? Thanks, but no thanks!
